I have tried various Yankee candle tealights and votives but have found you can't smell a thing. If you sniff them without lighting them up there's a great aroma. I now only use yankee candle wax tarts and these are always great. Anyone else found this?

I agree.

Thanks for that, was going to order for a pressie as I am a massive Yankee fan but haven't tried these. Only ever buy the jars or tartlets which I love. Really good price for these but will pass now x

I totally agree that the tarts give a much stronger fragrance. Certain scents in the large jars are good, but not as strong a smell as burning the tarts!

they cant even give these away, Yankee are going down the toilet...

Village candle's are so much better! And a bit cheaper than yankee's double wick aswell

Im sure you could get better at QVC for this money

Nothing particulalry special here as 36 of it are tealights which are only £6 a box in the first place and always on 3 for 2 or buy one get one half price in Clinton Cards

They are back!

Hahahaha, youre right! Yankee Candles are sooo going bust, its painful to watch them go down the pan slowly but surely. They're DESPERATE to shift their stock, bet there's more sales after chrimbo. Bloody American companies...

The Revere House ones seem very nicely scented and will perfume a whole house Amazon stock them.

yes people go yankie mad, I bought a selection of votives direct and can only smell them if I sniff directly on them before lighting, when lit nothing, so disapointed given up, wouldn't spend more money to try tarts if you need equipment as well

Yep, another product going down the pan, the newer candles are really weak, have a look at the 'Retired' ones on ebay, people paying over the odds to get the strong ones.

Yankee candle went to town riding on a pony ...

these "ecosoy" wax tarts are pretty good if anyone is interested. £3.75 for 10 delivered. i was very pleased with mine

Yep, I'm afraid I can't smell them once lit any more either. I do use one of the burners with a tealight but only a few hours maybe once or twice a week otherwise I can't smell it at all! I've stopped buying Yankee for this reason

Tempting

You don't, you can pick up nice oil burners to use with the tarts, Dunelm have some even - you can get them in most homeware shops for a couple of quid

I agree, I got mine from a Hallmark shop in Castleford outlet village, it has three wicks so no dipping in the middle and the scent is great.

I have a Yankee candle from a 18 months ago and I have one I bought four months ago and the older one has a lot more scent. I don't know what's changed but I would definitely recommend Village candles, I have the mulled cider one, it's gorgeous.

do you mean the type where you put a tea light under and often oils on top in the bowl bit? do you just put the tart in the bowl where the oil should go?

Kringle candles are a lot nicer than Yankee!

I can never bring myself round/ justify buying a massive Yankee jar when they do the jar ones in Home Bargains for £2.99! Absolute bargain in comparison!

I just don't get what the fuss is with these candles? Fat is fat is fat... Yankees are just fat = yes

Go with HOme Bargains every time.
Even if theyre not a British shop, don't go over to the OTHER YANKEE SIDE.
They are GREEDY and FAT and AMERICAN.

LOOK, their REVENUE was $844.2 MILLION IN 2013.

That's because their cheap wax candles are OVERPRICED even in the sale. Evil!!

ordered, still expensive for what it is but will make a nice gift.

Overrated imo, yea some smell nice but so do the same size jars in b+m or home an bargain, just another overpriced fashion accessory. But will say good deal for those that like this as they £1 each in tesco

Gone off Yankee lately in favour of Wood Wick. Much stronger scents and same price roughly

Agree. Only the wax tart burner works. QVC sometimes has them at a good price.

Why all the xenophobic comments about American firms? ... Anyone would think that good, honest British companies don't ever sell rubbish or try and make a profit.

Or you could use littlewoods, getting 10% off first order if youre short of cash, or buy 2 packs for 78£ and use code below to get 2 for 48£. This would make them £24 a pack

Great idea! Being different wax than the tarts, I have never thought of trying that. I have around 8 left from a QVC purchase last year. Might try the tea lights in the wax burner too!

Or for standard tea lights for burners have a peep in Asda; they are 100 for £2 and I find these are great. Lasts for around 4 hours.

^ Wilkinson has 100 tea lights for £2 as well. Don't know how long they burn for though.

ikea candles have gave me virtually no problems,, wilko ones did (quite a few failures ) not tried the asda ones though

at ikea itself, the glimma candles were £1.97 for 100. but im not close to ikea
