There are threads all over the net about this, they may not be proper Yankee candles i have bought 3 of the jars from there and are some made by a company called Simply home that says Yankee candle they are in different jars to proper Yankee's and also have Simply Home on them which Yankee's do not. See below for the difference and be aware that they are not proper Yankee candles that's why they are cheaper.

Simply Home ARE genuine Yankee Candles!

Depends on what you read but there are threads saying they are not as i looked into it when my sister who buys them all the time came and i showed them to her and she said they where fake and from memory nowhere on the real Yankee does it mention Simply Home and if they are real why are the jars different and all the artwork and why are they a lot cheaper they are also labelled with different names to what the proper Yankees are and why do the supermarkets only have a few scents. Surely if Yankee are going to sell candles at supermarkets they would want to distinguish themselves from the supermarkets own run of the mill candles with there easily recognizable jars and artwork , people recognize Yankee candles they would loose a fortune alone on people walking past them and not realizing what they where when they are use to how they look People have a right to know that what they are buying may not be the real thing.

Original Poster

obviously if you were going to buy Yankee Candles you would not buy Candles by Simply Home , anyone with any intelligence whatsoever would not purchased a Simply Home Candle and think its a a Yankee Candle, the names on the item, YANKEE CANDLE says YANKEE CANDLE ON the label, NOT Simply Home !!!!!!!!

"Simply Home" is a UK exclusive range made by Yankee Candle like it clearly states on the label.

Heat.

Also.. How likely are a supermarket giant, like asda, to sell a discount brand as people are suggesting 'simply home' are, that are putting the Yankee candle name on their jars and trying to pass themselves off as something else? Not likely, at all! 'Simply home' is CLEARLY a new range from Yankee candle. And like the OP says, these are just the usual Yankee candles anyway.

simply home by yankee candles are manufactured specifically for supermarket chains

These are standard price (have been for ages). Didn't know they were a good price. And no way will these be 'fakes'. We'd have trading standards coming to pull these off the shelf long ago.

If you check the Asda direct website, it clearly states they are produced by Yankee candles, if they weren't Asda and simply home would be in court for copyright offences, as Yankee candles would be suing them for using their name.

Fight fight fight, over candles lol LAME

Can I ask which Asda?

BTW Simply Home is a Yankee Candle brand. Look at the label and also on the base it says Yankee Candle (Europe) Ltd.

Simply home, the poor mans Yankkee candle.

Been buying them at this price from Asda for over a year. Yes they are Yankee candles not fake

Excuse my ignorance, but aren't these always £1?

Yankee Candle Company make a number of different Ranges. The Simply Home range is available on a limited basis to selected authorized outlets. The fragrances in the Simply Home range are slightly more limited than the Yankee Candle HouseWarmer fragrances, and not all the Simply Home range are available in al the different "forms" (such as the Quick Scents and the Room Sprays)

The Simply Home Jar is a slightly different shape which identifies it, in the same way that the new Pure Radiance Jars are a different shape. The quality and fragrances of the range are still excellent, and will give you many hours of wonderful fragrance in your home.

Get a grip man - they're just ducking candles!

Thank you

Asda only sell simply home yankee candles and the votives and samplers are always £1, where is the deal?
shoreline, lemon cream, cherry vanilla, pacific coconut, rainwashed berries, linen and lace etc... they're all SIMPLY HOME and these are standard prices for simply home yankees...

I've never heard of either but can't believe even the world of candles has its snobs

its not about being snobby, its the fact this isn't a deal for something that been selling in asda at this price for at least 18 months

I can appreciate its not a 'deal'. But 90% of posts on here ARE being snobby about candles

This deal stinks!

RRP for Yankee Candle tarts are now £1.25 and samplers are £1.75, so this is a deal.

So what? I would rather the world was a bit snobby about candles than going out drinking every night wasting emergency services' time by puking on the side of the road.

Simply Home ARE genuine Yankee Candles!

Yes that is correct, the jars are just smaller and the variety of fragrances is far less than the regular Yankee Candle range - as dizzydee2009 succinctly explains!

Thats true to an extent, the candles are always this price in Asda (and similarly priced in Tesco), but both the wax tarts & votives/samplers can be slightly dearer elsewhere.

on sale in asda home in Altrincham. as previously mentioned they are made by Yankee for supermarkets under a separate label. Not a deal though as they are this price all of the time and can't be compared to the normal range because they are different scents.

There are no products matching "Yankee"

Agree. It is a saving on the RRP - so OP has tried to help - and has finished up getting 'flamed'in return

Lol people getting hyped over candles is hilarious!

Clearly Asda and tesco won't sell fakes, they're a budget brand made by yankee. Also their tarts are £1 all the time and the samplers are crap

I mainly don't like this deal because of the irrelevant 'WOW' in the post as if its a mind blowing deal.

All this snobbery about candles is really getting on my wick!

Tarts for a pound and £1.25 has got to be an amazing deal, no matter what they look like! I'm told by the rougher types around here that they are paying £50 for 30 minutes!

I work for Yankee Candle (Europe) Ltd and can confirm that Simply Home is a made by Yankee Candle and is Official / Genuine

Picked one up. Thanks. Might light it tonight before relaxing in a bubble bath with some whale music and a pint of John Smith.

to be honest, I would just do this:

ebay.co.uk/itm…dbb

£1 delivered (in essence) each, a GREAT choice of candles and they seem genuine to me, having bought them for my mum on numerous occasions.

My partner works for Yankee Candle and these are real and genuine made in USA Just like all their candles they are just smaller and not as many different fragrances.
