thought this was a good deal. Also speaking with an adviser, the £300 processing fee can also be spread over the 36 months so taking you monthly payments up to around £185. The only up front payment you would make then is £177.84.

This is the 140 bhp version, 9 secs 0-60, also has navigaton. Really nippy car and a real pleasure to drive!!

0-60 in 9 seconds? Is that a typo?
How did they manage to make it so slow?

0 to 60 in 9 seconds is fast enough for any car on the roads today....why would you ever need to reach sixty in 1 or 2 seconds less than that....unless you're a ****

While in gear acceleration figures would prove more useful, the 0—60 is a good indicator of the cars potential to overtake when required.

9 second is a very average sort of number, and was certainly less than I would have expect from this car.

    Thank you
For a car as small as a fiesta with 140 bhp 9 seconds is slow. My focus ecoboost which weighs 2 tonnes does 0-60 in only 8.3 seconds and its 150 bhp. Plus the fiesta is half a tonne lighter.

    That doesn't add up imo.

A 2 tonne focus? What's it made of?

2 tonnes with five adults in the cabin and five folded up in the boot maybe. The Ford Focus has weighed about 1200kg for twenty years!
I've got a focus ST3 petrol and the 0-60 is 6.3 seconds.....until you try to accelerate and realise power and front wheel drive is not the best choice. This probably has a better time of it with 9secs as you might be able to put the power down without it trying to throw you in a hedge with torque steer.
When you're more interested in mph than 0-60.

Don't blame you for being confused, the 8.3 seconds quoted isn't fully laden.

Depends on gearing as well, not just power to weight.

Lets just agree that 9s is **** slow
Its the st 'LINE' not the ST - which is just what they've renamed the zetec s

They dont need it to go any faster than 9s as its target is people who want the sportier styling on a pretty much bog standard fiesta, plus it would ruin sales on the ST's if it did

I have seen graphs of people getting up to 200bhp out of their 1L ecoboost engines though, but apparently they didnt last very long...
I'm sure I read somewhere that Ford have had to limit the amount of torque available in 1st and 2nd gears as the gearbox couldn't handle it. Guess it would explain the slow 0-60 time.
we have a zetec.s lovely car to drive
