Found 9th May 2008
Ryanair have another sale on, with the offer flights being £5 including tax

They've also tweaked their site: flights that are on offer are now clearly marked as "SPECIAL OFFER" in the booking system.

Booking until Monday

I've checked availability from Manchester (my local airport) and found offer flights to Bremen, Marsaille and Milan - dates below.

Bremen

outbound - 27/05, 29/05 31/05 03/06, 05/06
inbound - 03/06, 07/06, 10/06, 12/06

Milan

outbound - 05/06, 07/06, 10/06, 12/06
inbound - 12/06, 19/06

Marsaille

outbound - 04/06, 11/06
inbound - 10/06, 01/07

Edit: just also found Liverpool - Venice, Liverpool - Stockholm and Stanstead - Genoa all on the offer (all checked on the first 3 weeks of june)

These offers are good for the end of May, all of June, start of July ('till the 15th) and then all of september, so happy hunting!

Travel with hand luggage only, and use the online checkin. This avoids *all* check-in and baggage fees, and gets you into the "Priority boarding" queue for free, which usually translates to a slightly better choice of seat.

REMOVE THE TRAVEL INSURANCE - its hidden in a dropdown that with "United Kingdom" selected, but is labelled "Select country of residence for travel insurance" - be careful not to miss it. If you need some decent insurance, go find some independently and see if quidco will give you a decent kickback.

Payment:
Visa Electron cards, whilst usually hopeless are the jackpot here.... no charges for using them.
Switch (Maestro) cards are the next preferred, incurring a £1.20 per person, per flight (as in, a return is 2 flights) charge

Doing this, you should reasonably be able to book flights for £6.20 each way, or £5.00 if you have a visa electron card.

Even the specail offer flights from B'ham add on taxes... two £5 flights to billund (wherever the hell that is..) becomes £50 once you add in tax. Still a decent price for a flight but onve again hugely misleading on the part of Ryanair...

Billund is in Denmark, not far from Legoland

For all you southerners, I've just done some quick legwork to check availability from luton and stanstead. I've posted all of the routes on at £5 that I was able to find flights on.

In all cases, I checked starting on the 27th May for the outbound flight, and the 3rd June for the inbound - the further away from these dates the quoted ones are, the more difficult it was for me to find a flight. - overall availability looks pretty good.

As for birmingham, that was more difficult...

I found

Marsaille (outbound 27th May, inbound 5th Jun)
and
Shannon (outbound 27th May, inbound 3rd Jun)

both at £5 inc tax (in both cases £0.00 or £0.01 + £4.99 tax)

Looks like they dont love you brummies as much as the londeners

Visa Connect is an old name for the VISA debit card .... so I think you can pay by Visa debit card without a charge using this. Of course, if you happen to call it VISA, rather than VISA Connect, Ryanair will just have to charge you as if it was a credit card.......

I booked flights to marseille from Brum in halfterm and paid with a visa debitcard and the 40 quid became 47, Better than 63 for using the credit card however!

Thanks just managed to book some flights to frankfurt at the end of June. Never been to germany so thought i would give it a go.

Now i have to find cheap hotel any ideas.

Glad to hear you got to go somewhere nice, helena101

I went to Bremen on a similar offer earlier in the year, and really enjoyed myself: the food in particular. I brought back a shedload of really nice chocolate to give to people (and eat myself!) too.

Hope your trip goes as well as mine did
