Voted hot anyway for the yeti love
I'm still sticking to my Scott because I love the Twinloc system.
If you want something super light then also look at KTM, as they have 2019 and 2020 full sus carbon bikes weighing approx 10.5Kg.
Voted hot anyway for the yeti love
yep, id never buy one, fancy the new tallboy, but the shocks not that well placed for west yorkshire mud and the colour isnt matt black, so its a wait and see for me
It’s a mountain bike, cars shouldn’t be driving where this bike is best suited
Oh, are they used on mountains only and not on a road ever?
Note my generic comment!
Fox factory forks and shock are as good as you are going to get, sell off the brakes and get some hopes simple enough , if you were to buy this to your own spec it will be significantly more than £4k
I haven’t rode for a while but on my last build, I very much favoured Pikes over my 36s.
But this is the point my trying to make, little things (such as a cane creek headset, yeti bars, forks etc) are little things that all add up to loads of replacement parts later to make it your own. I really think it’s better to buy for you, once.
Regardless, I’m not disputing the fact this is a good deal. It really is.
It depends some people just want the shiny new bike others want it perfect, there are frame only £2k options on crc at the moment too but you’d be hard pressed to build a similiar spec for this price.
My second to last bike I bought as a D spec and sold off everything but the frame, stem, grips, crankset and wheels/tyres ,
it came in cheaper than buying the frame
The SC VPP system is amazing
Don’t understand the comments about mud - fit a snap on race guard and it’ll keep most mud and grit off that shock. I’ve got an FSR Enduro S Works with a similar position Ohlins shock and no issues. It’ll be fine, kit your bike for the conditions
The switch infinity has had many problems in the UK, especially in the peaks , many forums saying they love yeti but hate the after sales issues
I can believe it - but look after the bike and I’m sure the shock can be protected?
Haha I’m amazed, must be some secret mtber on here today
I've got a previous gen TB and absolutely love it. Using an offset headset to slacken the steerer to what the current generation use, but otherwise it's still a superb bike. It eats upper linkage bearings (lower ones use grease ports and last much longer), but as these are free from Jungle (yey!), it's no big problem to swap them every year or so.
Works well in the filth though. Warning: you might find this photo offensive:
