Stayed in a couple of them in London early 2000s. Can remember it being a very cheap way of visiting London at the time. There's a large one opposite St Pancras Station.
That's alot of flatulence to smell in the dorm at night 😴
Thanks for posting; we've added this to the Highlights pages
Private ensuite rooms also available so no need to share a huge dorm.

Love YHA places. The one at Whitby is right up next to the abbey, stunning!
Plus they're a charitable organisation so staying with them is good!
I've stayed in both the earls court and st pauls in London. Both in great locations close to the tube. Perfect for a cheap stay in London. St Paul's is my preferred

Used to be good when they were in the countryside with mainly walkers and cyclist using them so a community feel. Now just like a rubbish Travel Lodge for £10 cheaper.
Never considered it before. Comments seems favorable.
Young Man!
I have stayed in these YHA's recently and they are clean and presentable, but the beds are small for anyone 6 foot tall.or more. And in the dorm rooms there ALWAYS seems to be a snorer.

Also, you can often find hotels on Expedia or Travelodge that don't cost too much more in an area especially if there's Quidco / TCB etc.
And forgot to add, they usually also have a self-catering kitchen which is great to help costs down.
Stayed at YHA helvellyn was amazing, on-site pub and food or kitchen to make your own we stayed in a land pod. the Lake District is unreal 39627555-mBOhN.jpg
They have a community atmosphere to them that you don't get in hotels used by business travelers.
Good for single travellers and those not using cars. Cheap deal family room at Travelodge or Premier Inn usually a better deal for 2 plus travellers. Just had a short break in Durham for 4, £30 a night in a family room.
