Got one of these. Had it for about a year. Put an endurance 32gb SD card in it. Holds at least 5 hours worth of data in good quality.
Very easy to set up and app most of the time works flawlessly.
Well worth it just in case
Got one but never turns on automatically and constantly needs the date/time setting on start up. Not sure why

Think yours could be faulty, ive bought 6 of these now for myself and family members and every one has been fine and not done that.
That behaviour you described is what Nextbase cameras do after several months of use!
Great dash cam. Make sure you download the app. You can then transfer footage straight to your phone without removing the SD card.
I could use it to record my car never leaving my drive. Done under 200 miles in the last 10 weeks.
Its a shame Amazon dont sell these anymore. Ive had nothing but problems with Aliexpress and banggood so i refuse to use them.
If anyone is like me and wants to stick to UK sellers, there is an alternative to YI dash cams that are almost identical and sold on Amazon - the PEBA Dash cam amazon.co.uk/PEB…7CM

Unfortunately its currently unavailable, but they do keep going back in stock so its worth checking.

Maybe a firmware update could solve this issue?
been using this for few years now. silver one. bought 4k topguard on amazon to upgrade, what a waste of money. paid 2x price too. so don't get sold seeing their description , title 4k. i might have the bad one though. buy this one . won't be disappointed. so clear , bright, can read number plate when you pause video on pc. what more do u want. easy to remove . 1 clip and the micro usb. i like this color too. so probably get one of these too.
I've got one of these hardwired to my fuse box - it has worked great for the 3 years or so I've had it. Also has wifi which you can use to download footage straight onto phone.
Ordered last time and it never turned up! Found out I got a refund with no communication.
I have a couple of these, sure ther e was something about chinese vs EU firmware?
How long is the cable, long enough to properly hide this around the frame of your car or does it just hang and look horrendous?
I have this and am very happy with it. Number plates are always a bit of hit and miss , as it depends on factors such as viewing angles or if the driver used fog lights on purpose. I am looking at upgrading to a rear camera as well.

It's not that difficult. Press the SD card to pop out and then use something like the Integral USB3.0 MicroSD crad reader to read off it and copy videos. For fast moving vehicles, you can also pause with VLC second by second or use the Interactive zoom.
what is everyones thought on the ultra version?

its only 6 quid more and Im tempted

About 3 Metres...
Mine is behind the rear view mirror, cable tucks up into the head lining - down passenger a pillar (behind the trim) and across the top of the glove box and up the tunnel trim to a usb socket in front of the gear lever... totally invisible ! so plenty of cable.

How do you go about install is it hard wired?

How do you go about install is it hard wired?

Yes i hard wired all of them.
It can look a bit daunting to do at first, but its easy once you've done one. Some cars are dead easy can can be done in under 10 minutes, other are more fiddly and will take about an hour or more.

1. Start by watching a few guides on youtube to give you an idea as to whats involved:
youtube.com/wat…5io
*That video shows them using the engine compartment fuse box. I wouldnt normally use that one, as 90% of the time there is a fuse box in the passenger compartment that you can use and its much easier to run a cable within the passenger compartment, rather than from the bonnet into the passenger compartment.

2. You will also need to find your passenger compartment fuse fox on your car. You can either look in your cars manual, or if you google the year, make and model of your car and put "passenger fuse box location" - hopefully it should show you (assuming you dont already know where it is)

3. You will also need the hardwiring kit, such as this one: hard wire kit

Have a go, it just needs a bit of confidence to do it for the first time, but they are normally fairly straightforward. You can allways look around on the car forums, as someone has certainly fitted one to the same car before.
