Yet another reduction in price for this - now down to £29.99 from £41.99.

I got one at 20% off and I thought I had done well (though I have not tried mine yet).

great camera with amazing video quality at affordable price. slight fish eye effect on side borders.

as everybody else, I would recommend to get suction cup mount if you don't want to put adhesive mount (comes with the camera)

I just ordered this. Thanks.

On other threads there was a fair bit of chat about which HIGH ENDURANCE micro sd card to buy for dash cams. I'm not sure if a final verdict was reached or not, so does anyone have a recommendation for a best value option for a 32GB. I don’t see the need for a larger card as the footage is continually overwrite so a couple of hours recording will be plenty.

Yeah they've added another promotion of £12 off so makes it slightly cheaper if you're buying 1 - I bought 2 so the 25% worked out better (I think it's £12 for the order not per item but I might be wrong)

For this camera it needs to be Class 10 - I too went for 32GB as it will overwrite unless it's an emergency recording I think. I didn't do a huge amount of research for the cards as the price is minimal anyway and wanted it same day so went for this one and works great but I just noticed it's gone up a couple of pound and is no longer available on Prime but something like this is fine amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1

I just bunged any old card in mine.

I'm not very clued up on Dashcams but I bought a Nextbase 312gw recently for a present, does anyone with any experience know how this compares?

I'm thinking of returning it and buying this one because of the price. (£50 difference)

Still 41 for me. But I Ordered for 32£ 2 days ago

Just below the price, there is a Promotion Message, just hover over that.

Can this be used for wide angle photography and videos.? The yi 4k is a bit pricey

Just interested on your experience from what others have said - apparently it stays on with your car off (as powered by cigarette port) and will continue to drain your battery?

it starts up when the ignition is on, therefore it will not drain the car battery, when car is off. I went for it and bought it. The only disadvantage I can see is the grey colour, compared to black which would be more stealth and less noticable from oustide of the car.

Here is the review of it: techmoan.com/blo…tml BTW: this guy does seriously good work and his reviews are much trustworthy and helpful for dash cam buyers.

Why on earth is it glowing gold? It might as well flash! :-(

I thought it would make a good Xmas present. I suppose it could be painted black or dark grey, but that won't go down well if it has to be returned.

Anyone know if it will fit G1W mountings? It looks similar. Suction cups are hopeless and I won't use 3M glue, especially on a heated rear screen - I have mine mounted on the rearview mirror and the rear seat mountings

Edit:
I see in the comments, there is NO suction mount. No use then, won't glue it onto the textured screen paint, it pulled them off on my friends car. Suction cups can be nought but China only (waqit months!) and they are VERY expensive nearly 8 quid when normally they are a couple of quid!

They do a gold one, but this one is grey if you look at the description.

Better, but I suppose it will have to be painted. that would have the screen in in an hour where the person I was intending to buy it for lives - be safer leaving jewellery hangin on the rear view mirror! ;-)

Nextbase can record location, speed and has motion detection function, as opposed to YI. But Nextbase can only record 30fps (not 60fps like YI, for smoother video). Some car insurance companies may give 10-15% discount on premiums if Nextbase cameras are used.

Depending on your needs, choose which camera suits you best.

iv had this cam nearly a year, the san disk extreme card i bought for it lasted 6 months before it would no longer record. bought a trancend extreme card to replace it and it is still running strong. a great cam overall and a steal for £30

Seems you have to order this separately, god knows why. When I ordered it with other items I didn’t get it for £29.99. They charged the £41.when I ordered it on its own it was £29.99.
Click on both discount boxes and it will apply the discounts automatically.
Had to read the instructions

Hi all, which suction mount have people gone for with this? Picked up 2, one for me and one for the mrs. Cheers

Just bought.
Cheers OP.

Ordered additional suction cup from Amazon for £2.04.....here. Description clearly states suitable for Yi.

Two types show in that listing, so not sure which you will get! It is the fitting that is used for the G1W type cameras that you need, not the screw one shown. I have mine mounted with one that hangs on the rear view mirror, suction mounts are not good for fitting on the textured printing on many windscreens, and the one that comes with it might well damge that aresa too.

so..what is he best suction cup for this camera?

Gutted I missed this!

why? deal still available

I went for the MyArmor one from Amazon at £5.99. One of reviewers says it works well with this dash cam. It has 5 different fittings that come with it. Expensive for what it is!

bought, thanks op

Yes I know the one with screw tripod mount is shown but the photo library also shows the slide fitting so I'm hoping both types of fittings arrive.
I'll confirm once I get the part.

Still available. I just picked one up for £29.99

I bought this like 2 weeks ago 35.99 at 826 degrees. Now it's 6 pound cheaper and half as hot. Wish Amazon still refunded the difference.
