Are these any good guys? Been looking into these i think in the past
Good price. I received mine the other day. This camera was to replace my 720p version - I think my 720p version is a lot better for 2 reasons. The lens is a lot wider on the 720p and the 1080p seems to be extremely easily triggered when compared to the almost perfect 720p.

If better clarity isn’t a necessity, I would opt for the 720p. Just my opinion.

Isn’t there a monthly subscription to pay on yi cameras?

Yeah there is but I would suggest put SD card in and avoid the cloud subscription.

There is if you subscribe to store the footage on their cloud service. However with some of their cameras you can chuck in an SD card (some only 32gb) and work from there. But I know my outdoor camera from them you have to have one or the other otherwise you can record only like 14 seconds.
App is decent and the video quality is great but notifications for motion detection are terrible. I'll get none for hours / days and then 20 at once.

I had this issue just to realise that they’ve released a new app “Yi Home” which works perfectly fine and gets regular updates. Download the new app and link your devices again.
Anyone know how to get thumbnails for the 1080p version? I just get the default image on my alerts timeline - the 720p version shows a thumbnail of the recording - but the downside is the 720p only records for 6 seconds, where as the 1080p records everything
