Am I missing something or has anyone else had the same issue with volume turning off every time someone gets alert or message or if the wifi disconnects for any reason.its happened to us many times and volume button turns off automatically by default and u never know if your baby is awake or crying. I'm now having to leave door open and always checking on camera to see if the volume hasn't turned it's self off. Is there a setting or some trick to sort.
Anyway good price heat added.

You're better contacting YI as they update the app quite regularly if it is a bug or issue an update for the cameras
Paid 20 for the 720. Fuming lol
Now you see what I can't work out is if this camera rotates 360 degrees like the other dome cameras. It looks like it does from the pictures, but the blurb says not. Hmmm

Scratch that, I'm pretty confident that it does rotate 360. The description and photos and user manual say that it does, it's just missed from the specs in the compare table.

It doesrotate 360 just not round and round, it stops either side, however its still a great cam given this price. it has a wide angle lens

I have no issues with mine use it on the window to look out my front window onto the drive (cant be bothered to mount it outside) have 3 other yi cams, this one, the inside basic one and a proper outdoor one, all work fine with no issues.

I'm glad they work fine with no issues, but do you happen to know how far (ish) it rotates. The manual, the written description and the images show different stats....

Scrap everything i just said, (deleted comment) think it was my 4g connection.

It does rotate 360 just not all around in 1 go. E.g. you can spin 1 way and it stops at 359 degrees, then the other way it will stop at 1 degree.
Understood, thanks buddy. I'm in for two then!
Thanks OP, ordered one more. already have one of the old shape domes working fine for over a year.
Takes 64gb micro SD card, by the way, despite what the blurp says. Excellent camera, much better than Xiaomi's.

Micro SD card wouldn’t work on mine. Did a little googling and realised it had to be formatted in FAT32 for the camera to recognise it.
Very silly of me.
For those who would need an local RTSP stream, this seems to be supported by custom fw:

github.com/The…-v4
Apart from the colour, not much. This is newer according to the Amazon listing date.

There's a comparison table in this item's product page. The field of view is apparently a little wider on the old item.

I would just go for whichever is available and cheapest.
Showing £39.99 for me?

There is a check box under the price, you need to tick that to apply the £17 discount
This has to connect to mains right!?
Showing now discount box for me, full price. Guessing this has ended.
Just received mine. I see this one now has a network port.

The problem I have had with Yi cameras is that you can only access roughly 5 second long clip from your phone (uploaded to the cloud for a few days for free). You can't access the SD card. Dafang allows you to access the whole SD card footage.
can add the voucher

Just an FYI on this, you have to pay to get the custom firmware.
£24.99 for me

Does anyone know if these connect to WiFi via 5ghz or 2.4ghz as the last model I brought was right pain to get it to connect, I had to give up and return it back in the end
Yer 24.99 now
Did anyone manage to stack the voucher with the new price? IIRC the voucher expired at midnight.

Expired, £24.99 now
Mine arrived. It's huge.

Set up was easy, connected via 2.4ghz network

Worked well over 4g mobile, too

Has anyone here used the custom firmware who can comment on the quality? Also, does it only add RTSP or does it mess with existing features.

Yes, but because it is powered via a micro usb cable, you can power it off any usb port.

I found you can even power it for quite a few hours using a small usb power bank; making it very portable and ideal for temporary locations.

I planned on using the custom firmware but have been blocked by the following:

1) As @davebateman mentioned above although the base FW is free, you are required to pay at least £5 for the RTSP server to work.

2) There's no way of controlling the camera's pan or tilt outside of the Yi Cam app.

3) The significance of 2) is that the Yi software is still enabled on the camera.

Regardless of how one might feel about the closed source approach, the extra £5 and running Yi software make this a bit of a non starter for me at least. At that point I'd rather use another Neos/Dafang compatible cube camera.

I'll spend a bit more time looking but I think mine will go back.

Yes. I applied the voucher and put it in my basket when this was posted on Thursday.
Last night I checked the basket and it was showing the Black Friday price and that the £17 voucher would be applied at checkout.
Its just dispatched. So I got it for £7.99.

Is anyone struggling to connect these? I have a couple of the black 1080p dome cameras, and a couple of the outdoor bullet style cameras, so I'm no stranger to setting these up, but I can't get the unit to recognise my QR code for my internet network. It's on 2.4ghz, and I've reset the unit also. Still no luck. Oddly when I'm on the screen to choose my connection here.... If I click the button at the bottom it provides a qr code which the camera unit will recognise and try to connect, but that's not my WiFi network.
39204139-5dyLv.jpgI can't overwrite the 'unknown ssid' in the top box, so all I can do is click the link to choose my WiFi network and produce a qr code that way, but the camera unit won't read it. I've even taken a screenshot of the qr code and enlarged it, but still nothing :-/ oh and I've also updated the app too, so I feel as if ive left no stone unturned as it were.

Anybody got any thoughts? Anybody else been through a similar thing and worked it out?

Thanks in advance

Dave
Just set mine up and can't seem to record to SD card. There are no references to SD card in the YI app, and it's not recording to the SD card. Any ideas?

In Settings (gear symbol when you have picked a camera), there should be a "MicroSD card" line under Storage and above Network. If you pick it you will be shown how much memory is used and given an option to format the sd card.
How to record continuously on sd card? Tried searching in the app but could not find anything.
