Bought one of these two and a half years ago and it's still going strong. Great picture even in low light, definitely worth £25

I second that, great camera.

Assuming you're in the UK, you select Spain as the 'Shipping from' region. Don't choose Russia or USA. If you select China, it'll take a month, compared to around one week from Spain.

It was something to do with my address. Working now! Thanks
Unable to buy, cannot ship to region?

Edit - fixed, don't use autofill address, select United Kingdom then England etc manually

Make sure your address is recorded in your account property (i.e, United Kingdom is selected). Choose Spain as shipping from location.

Hi, I have the same problem what did you do to fix it? I have Spain selected and my address on GB auto fill correctly from their list?

Dont use autofill. Select country manually
Only 30fps? Was expecting 60fps for a dashcam.
Is this hard wired in or cigarette lighter ?
Any recommendations for a mount? Thanks

Sticky back foam mount is included in the box
Great camera but I'd pay the extra for the 60fps version. Much better quality and the WiFi transfer is much faster too
Standard evidence link for Yi dashcams: hotukdeals.com/com…603
(I appreciate I bought the 'better', 60fps, 160 degree grey camera.)

That said, you can't get a G1W anymore. I've not found a better camera. I recently tried out a Roav S1

Evidence link to £85 Roav: hotukdeals.com/com…283

I'd actually recommend buying the Yi given it's £25 and there is no better competition, short of paying over £100. WDR is an excellent feature. 120 degree view is wide enough without forcing nearby objects to be distorted too far away and represented by too few pixels. 60fps makes no difference. Wifi is a gimmick, handy only if you don't have access to a computer. We need 4k dashcams, dual dashcams (with a standard, 120 degree field of view and the second with a decent optical zoom), faster chips and much bigger and better sensors. Until then, Yi is good enough.
Anyone else have this problem?

Is there something to stick this on windscreen or how you attach it to it?

Adhesive foam on the mount. It has everything you need to mount it on your car windscreen (I have it behind the rear-view, so not to obstruct my view when driving). The cable is really long and I have this running from cigarette lighter socket to top centre of windscreen, all of the wire tucked under the rubber seals in car door / window sills etc.

Take a look at the second link, and the files are all there for you to compare yourself. I returned both (2 Amazon accounts). Inferior to my G1W.

I haven't directly compared the Yi with the S1, but they have similar niggles for me. Overly processed/sharpened, false colour reproduction & detail missing (like someone coloured a brick wall all the same orange instead of brick red and neglected to leave the mortar a different colour). I suspected the Yi used extrapolated pixels, but video quality wise, I think they are much of a muchness. I'd put them in the same group.

For a third of the price of the S1, I'd get the Yi.

Just under the windscreen mirror works for me. I tucked the cable under the roof by prodding it along the edges. This is all connected to my fuse box so it starts as soon as my car does. I believe you can buy the suction mount for this camera on ebay for cheap which is what I did
Any recommendation on the size of memory card, I assume that this fills it then starts deleting. So what length of time would be appropriate, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week..?

G1w does look better, there is such an array of dash cams all doing similar performance. Also it might be me but just working out which is actually a better image sensor. On the S1 it says Sony Starvis but I thought they all had a model number IMX etc but when I contacted Anker they said its just a Sony Starvis

stuck mine on with bluetack

Hi,

For those that own one of these, how long is the power cable? I was wondering if it is long enough to go from cigarette lighter connector and discretely under passenger footwell around the trim etc so it can't be seen. Is it long enough?
Thanks

I have bmw 3 series. Plugs into cigarette socket, tucked around trims to beneath windscreen mirror with cable to spare.

I'd recommend paying a bit more for the 60 FPS version. Makes all the difference to the footage.
May as well get one at that price, nice one
Hi, Do you have the same problem with a battery? My camera switch off stright way when I unplug it from any power source. Cheers.
