Is it from Newcastle?
Best quality you are likely to find for under £50 today. I am not a fan however. In my opinion this is better than the wider angle view since wide angle lenses distort images hugely. Objects like licence plates which should be centred will appear much further away in the footage where they are represented by few pixels. The compromise with a wider shot. Personally I don't want to see 180 degrees. If I did I'd point my camera to face sideways.
I had one of these off Amazon, lasted 7 months then. Stopped recording

I ordered one last November. Still not arrived!!!

Had the same problem. Fixed my one with a reflash.
Can it recorded while parked triggered by motion sensor?
I've had this for over a year or so. Working very well, never had any issues. Nice interface with companion app. Can't go wrong with Yi products personally. Prefer to buy from Amazon though as if any issues at any point can always return

I’ve seen someone before on here who came up with a decent idea before. Plug into a power bank when you aren’t in the car and it’ll keep recording.
You’re taking a gamble with this.
Ordered two of these, both faulty!
AliExpress agreed it was faulty.
Offered £6 and I keep the piece of junk or return at my cost (£20ish) to China.
(see previous post of this deal)

Generally a fan of Yi but never again via AliExpress....only from Amazon for me.
Cheers mate. Got 2 of the superior ones as dashcam. Going to order this and plug it into a power bank for a parking dashcam

I never ordered from China. RTFS. I ordered from Amazon and it came the next day. Amazon took it back after 10 mionths as well.
Also tried several sd cards because they failed intermittently as well. A d yes they were SanDisk class 10 cards

Been using these for 3ish years now, never had a problem (other than card failure which constant writing will cause). Have around 10 in use among friends and family.

Bought one last time but i'm now thinking should anyone buy anything from a country that has infected the world because it failed to shut down its disgusting wet markets. They eat rats cats dogs bats snakes salamanders etc etc. Totally uncivilised and and no qualms about infecting us all.

Absolutely true as well but we wouldnt have this virus at all if the Chinese government closed down the wet markets after SARS like they said they would.

Anyway, are you finished with our nation too?

Are we watching the same video? Is it just acting?? Don’t think so. Yes I know the theory, and I don’t believe everything what’s on the web. But if I follow that theory 100% then I shouldn’t believe all those reports about how many people die day after they. Or should I???

We are but in these days of misinformation, I take even so called verified sources with a pinch of salt.

By all means boycott Chinese made products in order to bring production home (if that's even possible).
But to condemn a whole nation based on a number of idiots is a bit knee-jerky.

It may be hard to clarify whats on the video but what this pandemic has really brought home is our over reliance on a morally corrupt Chinese state. No not the people but a communist government that has zero regard for its people or the rest of humanity.

As Kojo said we are paying the price for cheap labour and products. Perhaps now we will return to sourcing everything at home. If we dont we will see this again and again. I see from todays press the government are already thinking along these lines.

I have to say the UK governments handling of this crisis up to now has been criminal . They've had since January to mobilise the Health Service and properly equip them with PPE. They started about 10 days ago. They were preoccupied with the herd immunity concept. Their incompetence will have cost thousands of lives by the end of this.

Torally agree on the Chinese state. Sadly our government and those of some of our international best friends have not been much better over the years/decades.

We had ample notice of what was coming so yip, the government's plan & preparation is criminal.

Herd immunity is principle definitely works. Apply it to a population controlled by natural selection and survival of the fittest... the virus will have limited impact and reaching herd immunity won't be costly.
However, our genius overlords somehow forgot that we have an aging population and a half decent health service where people with medical conditions have long and happy lives!

Let's hope we can be more self sufficient and less reliant on others... can't see it happening unfortunately.
Financial restrictions (costs/wages etc) and climate change commitments won't let this happen.

Quick search for aliexpress on this site alone shows people aren't anti 'made in China' yet... maybe that'll change in years to come.

You've summed it up well. Still not sure about the herd immunity but the consequences are as you describe. I can imagine the discussion " look we will loose thousands of elderly and several hundred NHS staff. Oh goody the pension savings for that lot will partly pay for the cost of this thing". No doubt Dominic had a hand in proceedings ( the press did attribute him to making a statement along these lines which was denied).

Not sure about people boycotting Chinese goods but I do think that Governments and companies will now be reviewing their reliance on China and you may well see some strategic changes. We on the other hand are creatures of habit and a cheap mobile or dashcam from Banggood will still tempt us even after all of this.

Me personally i'm sitting here with my Chinese wife (an NHS staff Nurse). I fulfill about 3 of the vulnerable medical categories. I thought I was good for a few more years but I wouldn't bet on it now.

The cynic in me says that the conversation about how much of a cull would be acceptable politically did happen.

I have no connections with China but one of my fears is that as the number of deaths rise, people start blaming the Chinese people.
Hopefully we have more sense than that.

Anyway, I hope you and your wife stay safe and wish you all the best.

I can tell you the dispute outcome...
Despite the video evidence and AliExpress agreeing that it's faulty they'll offer you the following:
i) £6 refund per item and you keep them.
ii) You return them to China at your cost (appx £25 via trackable post/courier)

There's another thread on a previous deal for these. Take a look on there because someone managed to kick theirs into life with a long charge.
It didn't work for me but you might get lucky.
Mine came from Spain, but still .. I'm not covering return cost for something that is broken.
I will play harsh Keep your fingers crossed
