Just a few cons from an owner, on the lookout for a replacement.

• Vibration from the windscreen mount is evident in resulting clips
• Washed out colours on the screen
• Very reflective screen, could do with being a matt finish
• ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) is useless
• Loop recording set to 3 minutes, cannot change this
• No suction mount, only a 3M sticky mount supplied
• Stands out in the windscreen due to the light colour of the housing
• Unable to change the date format
• No option to add your reg number
• Battery indicator light has a mind of it’s own
• Can’t turn off the G-sensor, can only change the sensitivity
• Quite a lot of windscreen reflection
• 1296p setting not much different to 1080p

How much does the better one cost?

This deal is pretty neat though.

Which better one?
Nice
Anyone can suggest recommended SD card for this dash cam?
Thinking of getting High endurance SanDisk but alot of mix review. Would buy the transcend but is it worth double the price?
I got one and really good
Brought one few months ago still haven’t managed to get a sd card for it
Cracking price for a cracking camera

The grey one is the better of the two (Black one max resoloution is 1080p 30FPS) where as the grey one supports 1080p 60FPS and 1296p. Plus other gimmicky things, like lane departure warnings (Turn this off as it's pants).

The post is for the grey one though. Emily321 sounded like they were suggesting a better one than the grey one

Has anyone ever found a dashcam where the screen is off from the start (with just LEDs to show that it’s recording)? Of all the ones I’ve tried, I’ve found it so annoying that the screen always start on. Maybe I’m the only one.

I think anything with a high read-write count because it will loop and a 10 rating should suffice
Great camera. My whole family has them and not had 1 issue. Would suggest using the 1080 x 30 fps setting. As it has better low light performance.

I have the Crosstour 4K as it has the 1080 60fps setting.....really surprised with the quality of the video for the price.
Me and the missus both have these, can't recommend it enough! Paid for itself the offer week when someone backed off their drive onto the main road she was traveling on.

Windscreen reflection will always be a problem but you can reduce it with a CPL filter. I saw a clip somewhere of somebody using a 37mm to 49mm step up adaptor and a 49mm filter on this YI. Looked horrendous.
If you go onto ebay and do a search for a 37mm CPL filter, there's two the last time I looked - both less than £4 They should be about the right size to mount on a YI. Unfortunately, I've yet to see a dashcam that has a threaded lens housing, so you'll need to figure out how to mount it. I've fixed mine onto my Oldshark G13 (great quality footage) with a bit of rubber tube.

I have this...you don't need to spend a fortune on the sd card I bought a 32gb one as it's pointless getting anything bigger. You can download an app which connects wireless to the cam and adjust all the settings from this...I have the screen to come on at first and then it goes black for the remainder of the journey. A nice cheap dash cam ps I bought a suction cup mount of eBay for it for like £2

Mini Dashcam was posted couple of weeks back. I installed yesterday and while the video clarity is great at 1080p 30fps (Daytime only I haven't managed to get a night time recording yet), I have noticed that the unit gets too hot / warm. Not sure if this is normal but have seen few discussions elsewhere...........

This is my third dashcam and mobius beats them all easily.

Have you tested and does it work well?
Not any good at reading registration plates
What about dash cams which also have reverse parking cameras too? Can anyone recommend any?

You should be using ' High endurance' SD cards for dashcam.
Samsung Pro endurance or SanDisk high endurance. Costs little more but in long run better.

Fair enough it isn't the best dash cam on the market, but find a sub £30 dash cam that is flawless.

Bought two, one for each car, it does what it says on the tin and the menu's aren't in Chinese. The ability to use smartphone and the wireless connection the camera offers to quickly pull down a snipped section of the footage without having to take out the SD card out and faff about with using a reader with a computer is great, its 1080 60fps, turns on the second it receives power from USB, includes a USB cable that is plenty long enough to run around seals and inside door frames to keep the cable out of vision.

Not disagreeing with Sharknado, they are legit cons, but you're investing in a budget device. You don't buy a £100 TV and expect £1000 of value, same applies here. If you want more, go drop £150+ on something from Halfords.
Looks like a nice camera. this is a great price considering the specs. I’ve just ordered some Yi IP wireless cameras for my house. Never used Yi products before but heard good things about the brand

Going by the huge number of positives on HUKD about YI, you may have a faulty one. Have you tried contacting YI?

Nah it’s not faulty, it’s a clear camera and good value but rubbish at reg plates unless a few feet away and stationary.
