Dashcam

Link above has videos from this dashcam in two different cars. One at night. One in the day to read numberplate and one with speaking to hear microphone quality. I apologise for my language in the van video though.
Hot! Ordered.

I've also brought a suction cup and SD card for it. Links below incase it helps anyone...

Suction cup amazon.co.uk/dp/B07C2YHFHC/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_9b6-BbSAB62EB

Card (edit) after buying this then doing some more research, I've now also order this sd card, as seemingly you need a high endurance card for dash cams - amazon.co.uk/dp/…9XE

Earlier I'd ordered a cheaper one, which I'll use as a back up.

Everyone should watch techmoans review of this camera here -

The quality on it is really good and for 25 quid you can't go wrong. I also purchased the 130° camera the other day and sent it back as the quality was lacking. You really do need at least 1296p.

Can't believe this offer came up for this camera just after black Friday.

Either way people seem to ask same questions:

1. Camera plugs into your cigarette port
2. Camera turns on automatically when you turn engine on and starts recording.
3. Camera auto writes over old footage unless you mark it for saving.
4. Footage can be downloaded onto your phone via the app but I think footage is best quality when pulled from sd card in your pc.
5. Cable can be hidden under your roof felt lining to the power socket.
6. Always use at least class 10 sd card to ensure best quality recording.

Typical. Suggested the other Yi dashcam to friends when it was on offer. Wish I knew a deal on this one was coming up.

Got 2 of these dashcams and they’re great quality without breaking the bank. An absolute steal for £25.

I think I would have said a lot worse! Hard to tell from my phone what the quality is like, but are you happy with it?

I was waiting for the Nextbase 512GW to drop but I missed it last time and I'm in urgent need for one. Decided to go ahead and purchase this with a suction mount and I hope I don't regret it.

Not normally fussed about cost as I tend to believe you get what you pay for, but I'd like to hope it's decent enough for the price.
Many thanks op was looking for a dashcam
I got the other one delivered today, ordered this one, will return the other one
🏼
Those videos are over 1080p but not that much higher. That's 30 FPS but 1080 can be recorded in 60 FPS but I prefer the higher quality. YouTube will only display 1080p as the resolution isn't standard.

WiFi enabled so you can download clips without having to plug into the computer.

I've bought 3 of these and will probably buy another for my mum. £25 for a dashcam that can do over 1080p is excellent value. However I have a Xiaomi phone and mi band and 3 of these dashcam. So I could be called a fan boy.

I'd search technoan on YouTube and watch his review as he isn't bias. Infact I have linked it below mate.

Negatives for me are glare at nighttime and not battery based so once you unplug it. It goes off straight away. Rare you'd have to carry it elsewhere since you'd have your phone on you to record anything.

You can buy 2 of these that will be cheaper than using a dual camera setup.
Thanks OP, voted hot.
Perfect price range as a Christmas stocking stuffer! Thanks very much!
Damn, bought the slightly cheaper but inferior deal the other deal and stuck it in my car yesterday so too late to return. This deal is even better for just £1 more!

Being a novice here is that important
Can you leave this type of thing recording after you’ve parked your car? If not, what type of setup would work for that?

I have a neighbour who can’t park for **** and keeps scratching up the side of my new car. It’s disgusting and in frustrating just typing this.
Ordered this to replace the one I bought last week! Thanks OP

I would like to know that too. An Ar**hole has hit my parked car at work car park and left without leaving any notes. Cost me £600 in repairs

To my knowledge, no you can’t do this practically as it has a capacitor based power supply rather than a battery so assuming you plug this into your cigarette lighter socket or USB port, when the engine is turned off and car locked up, it should kill the power to the device.

The only way to have it running all the time would be to hard wire it into the car in such a way that it is always drawing power from the battery and hence is always recording. But this could cause issues for your car battery I.E. drain the car battery.

Sounds like you both need a battery based device (rather than capacitor) which has a motion sensor built in - but these have their own drawbacks as batteries don’t weather too well in the heat of a car in the middle of summer
Ordered 2

Thanks. I think lol.
That's op. Ordered
