Handy little cams, I have 2 of these mounted outside but under eaves. Been there 18 months with no probs. Notifications to motion are a bit hit and miss. Just stuck 64gb cards in mine and watch back when I want... I think these are amazing for the money to be honest.

Whats the ip rating for it and is it fully waterproof
As I know is for inside.
No IP rating. They are meant for indoor use, but mine have survived 2 winters with fair protection from rain.. At 5v I'm prepared to risk 😬😁
very pleased with mine, app seems reliable, can't fault it
Got 2 of these and just replaced one with an outdoor one
Never had a problem with any of them or the app
I have 2 of these on window sills inside looking out.

1) Don't buy white ones if you're going to do this as too much reflection off the window.

2) The motion detection is a bit rubbish. It doesn't pick me up driving off the drive, yet it will pick up a bird or branches on the trees moving in the wind.

Would I buy another one? No.

Same here - I think we have 18 now across 5 sites, brilliant cameras all round, reliable with few issues. All I’d ask for is a 2x2 or 3x3 grid view in the app like the PC version gets - also Android notifications are botched, but I think this is to do with Android and sleep functions not the app?

Good price for the Dome 1080p here, especially the white one which is a bit more discrete if wall-mounted.
No getting alerts any more poor servers, not wort it
Heat for the price. Just returned one as I wasn't that impressed with the difference between this and my existing 720p's. Seemed more grainy for some reason. Love the camera's and the Yi home app though.
Awesome little things
You'd better hope that you don't have a problem with the camera, as their customer service is non-existent, i have tried to get a replacement camera for nearly 3mths.
If storage is via onboard MicroSD cards, what happens if someone breaks into your house and nicks the camera ? Surely your evidence is gone as well ? If you mount it outside, all a thief has to do is to yank it off and then rob you?
How does this compare to the Yi camera's x2 deal of last week

Would Amazon not help if you had an issue with this item as they sell off their website? Or do they leave it up to you to resolve with the seller?
other can confirm - but i think it strores some activity in the cloud for free - can anyone confrim how many seconds and time between next activity record?

I know neos cam stores 12 seconds with 5 minutes between records to cloud

That’s who I bought it through, but their response is just to get a refund, would’ve had to buy a new camera again, by which time the price had gone up.

6 seconds cloud storage not sure about interval even if there is one
Thank you, purchased one. Fully recommend these cameras, we have been using one as a baby monitor and it picks everything up perfectly.
6 seconds cloud storage unless you select motion tracking and then you get 10 seconds. Be aware that the motion tracking is also rubbish as the camera doesn't return to exactly the same spot after it has finished moving so you end up with it eventually looking at the wall.

I have alerts 1 minute apart on the same camera.

You can subscribe to a cloud service, these are not great for looking through a window but ok for this price

Is that the case even if you have bookmarked the camera position? I don't use mine to motion detect
Yi Cloud is $10/month
Great cameras, App works fine and never had any issues. Great spot OP
Great cameras. I have 2. But both keep losing connection randomly.
Hate all of these new cloud cameras utter ripoff give me the old 720p ones any day!

Ability to control from a browser on any pc lpatop or tablet, download the footage from the card directly or just stream the video onto your hard disk and more...i consider these crippledcams and tied to a cloud which may evaporate when the company decides to stop supporting your cam!

These so called cloud cams are just another way to rip you off by making you pay for cloud storage when you find the only way to view your videos is to take the card out and put it into your pc - the old web interface was much easier especially for those of us who prefer using a laptop or pc and hate smartphones!

They are brilliant for day time- It will not show anything in darkness because IR will not be passed through glass. As a long term solution, you require an outdoor camera outside home if you are seriously considering to watch outdoor as well. May be something like Blink. The problem with these stand alone Blinks are that it may get stolen and there is no replacement offered as in the case of Ring cameras.

You can turn the IR sensors off on these so they aren't using night vision. As long as you have a security light outside that comes on at night when it detects motion, they work OK. There is enough ambient light from the street lighting on our street to see enough of what's going on but the security light coming on means it will record in normal colour when it detects motion.
