Any way to effectively link these or the other yi cameras to an echo show? I've one of the indoor ones, but I'd like to be able to look at it on my show?
Do these have the option for FTP transfer?

Be great if you could do this
Shame only black ones are reduced, would stick out like a sore thumb.

Still waiting for white to drop in price.
Ok camera for the price. Quality of videos even the ones stored on the SD card are pretty shocking for a supposed 1080p when there is low light (not darkness, just low light).

Tracking is pretty decent but mine after 6 months has a tendency to crash once a week and there's no way of knowing it's crashed until you notice that it's not moving anymore.

Video quality is 4/10 for me if I use my Hikvison wired cameras as the 10/10 benchmark.

No problem like that with mine. And I have 5.
Assume this is one of these 'sd card or cloud subscription' cameras?

No. It has the option but it’s not required.

Everyone keeps comparing this to a Hikvision which seems to cost much more money and is a ‘true IP camera’ in that it has the pros and cons of that - if you want ease of use then you don’t want an actual IP camera as not everyone is technically minded enough to open ports, configure DMZ and port forwarding - not to mention that in the office I don’t have deep access to their routing hardware. I don’t think it’s a realistic comparison. I have 12 of these across 3 sites and have no major complaints. People looking to store on FTP, etc. Shouldn’t be considering the Yi cameras as they are closed source but do what they’re designed for, very well.

Me either. My 2 are working perfectly with clear images and video.

I have

2 X DS-2CD2232 for outdoors

2 X DS-2CD2135

I bought them all a while ago, pretty sure they've been upgraded to newer versions and still quality is superb compared to any other camera that I've tried.

Point still stands. This is listed as 1080p yet the video quality is quite bad and pixelated. Even worse quality through the app.

I'm just letting people know to not expect 1080p quality.

The quality or the crashing? Pretty sure the crashing has occurred when I changed my WiFi to the BT whole home discs.

Oh well, looks like mine is busted. This thread prompted me to check the camera and it had once again disconnected and had to be reset completely to connect (only way it'll reconnect!). The colours are way off - that wall should be white. Thankfully Amazon are great with refunds so I'll be getting the money back for this.

Not sure why you're saying you have so much pixelation.

i’ve got these and have recently had my internet box upgraded to 5G?? Is there anything I can do to get them to work again or should I look to buy something else? I was extremely happy with them

Go into your router and re-enable the 2.4Ghz network band, it will be there, I cannot believe they would supply you with a router with 5Ghz only - the only reason they should turn it off would be to reduce congestion but you should be able to turn it back on. You need it for this.

It is very good quality. For starters that little icon that says 'auto' in the bottom corner in your app has an Auto, SD and HD option, enable that option to get it to 1080p. It goes to auto to save bandwidth and latency. Mine occasionally has issues but I suspect that's the hateful Sky Q router we have and not the camera as the same camera in my office and other flat works fine - I have some odd 'green flashes' and banding from time-to-time, if you have that banding like in your photo, it might be a faulty sensor in yours.

Have you tried the Monoclecam skill? I read in another post that enables the use of cameras with the Echo kit but don't know if it'll work with Xiaomi/Yi.

If you try it, please let us know if it works.

Thanks - I've just order them, too! Great value! I got my first 720p Home camera a few days or so ago and am impressed, so another 2 will be useful.

I'd not use in sensitive places, e.g. kids' rooms, as while you'd hope they're secure you can never be 100%. But they're a great way to set up cameras to monitor the front/back of the house and maybe indoors while away at a cheap price.

Thank you. Didn't realise the discount showed on the next page.

Appreciate your help my friend.
just as a heads up... these "cloud" cameras have no local way of managing/viewing them. it all has to be through the app/website. I bought one of these with the plan of adding to my collection of cameras around the house and viewing using my android app "ip camera viewer pro" but there is no way of accessing the camera unless you use its own software, which defeats the object for me, so was a complete waste of money.

there are number of custom firmware you can flash onto these to be able to use other software or rtsp which should allow you to link up to other systems - research it

care to point me in a direction? i looked into it when i first got it, but the only stuff i could find involves a bunch of soldering and hooking up serial connections to the device to be able to install any type of firmware.

this is just one of them I have found although I am unable to confirm this particular one will bring rtsp but it offers other options such as ftp

Beautifully clear pictures.

They are not weatherproof, however, if you place them under protection then they are fine. Mine have been here months now, (I have 3 outside), and they have survied all weathers with tempretures ranging from -8 to +29
