Tried 3 different WiFi IP cams & this is the best one.
Great price, I paid £29.75 for the white version last year. Shame it's only black at this price. Good deal either way.
Just spotted your other deal for the white one. Very nice thanks OP.

Bought 5 last year. until now 2 are alive. 3 got serious sensor problems and were eventually binned. Those cameras take extremely badly semi humid or humid conditions that are present in the room. I was keeping them about 20cm from the window close to trickle vent. that was enough to kill the cam.

because Aliexpress, not worth the hassle.
the remaining two were hid deep indoors, no problems whatsoever till this very date.
so just giving general advice to some of you to not to keep them close to the open windows or outside in "seemingly well protected from rain areas".

fab camera anyway, great for the price.

I’ve had 2 OUTSIDE since last year. Wind, rain, frost, sun and everything the British weather can throw at them....they’re still working!

oh yeah.aliexpress return is no go. I bought mine from amazon itself. I installed it upside down on the ceiling.
I bought the 720 white version of this on the recent deal and discovered it doesn't want to work with a 5ghz router. I'm not clued up enough to know that if I change the settings on the router to the 2.4ghz to work with the camera if it will affect the range or speed of the wifi
Have a couple of these and they are not that great, quite noisy as they turn and one refuses to turn off the ir meaning the light bounces off the window obscuring the view.
Bought the latest model yi cam X last week and it is much better, faster movement tracking and not so noisy.

I had the same problem initially.. so I switched off the 5ghz and configured the camera on 2.4ghz and then switch on 5ghz as well.. it works with both frequencies on. but uses 2.4ghz

Was it the 720 or the 1080 version? Didn't realise once you would switch it back to 5ghz it would still work...Is it straightforward to do?

yes i have mix between 720/1080yi camera..
basically login to your router admin page
disable 5ghz ..
enable 2.4ghz (if not already enabled)
pair all cameras
enable 5ghz from router admin page
now you have both band working and camera will connect to 2.4ghz
I found that if you set them up using an oldish mobile that doesn't support 5ghz you can just set it up as normal then once connected just login from your normal phone or tablet on the 5ghz.
I have a few around; didn't have to turn off 5Ghz. Worked over BT dualband without any issues unlike ewlink products.

What I did was to rename the 5ghz SSID to make it different from the 2.4ghz one. Now I don't have any problems going forward with devices trying to connect to the 5ghz one and failing because it's named the same as the 2.4 one.
