Good deal but I'd check out the description of outside use as even Yi say it's not for outdoor use.

Wouldn’t think it’s suitable for outside use unless it’s dry and not raining.
I'd love it if was properly waterproof, I already have the fixed Yi outdoor camera and it's great but as it is only on a single storey extension the field of view is rather limited.

I’ve got the Yi camera 720p overlooking from the upstairs window, the coverage is phenomenal.

Just need to have extension cables to get it near the window unless you have sockets nearby.

Mate that’s looking out through the glass, albeit the room upstairs doesn’t have the light on at night.

Have you checked your settings as mentioned in my earlier post?

ok I see yours is pointing out on a street with street lighting that is why.

I have mine at the back of the house where it is completely dark that is why it is useless at night
These yi cameras are crap to be completely honest. I own the 1080p indoor one and outdoor bullet cams. The quality is pathetic hardly 1080p more like 480p. The cameras also take forever to connect to and frequently disconnect too whilst your viewing them.

I'm regretting installing them now. The alerts are also about as much use as a chocolate kettle. Set them on low and they never come through or set them on high and be inundated every 10 seconds.

Load of shite to be honest.

The notifications is hit & miss. But the viewing quality I cannot fault, the cops have viewed it and used it against morons who were up to no good.

Unless the culprit literally was 5 feet from the camera you won't I'd anyone using any of the yi home cameras. That's a fact.

Was about 5.1 feet away and yes they got ID and I still have the footage when the cops came round.
Can you view the footage via the app without subscribing?

Yes. You will need a micro SD card which you insert into the camera.

Thanks, can you still see 'live' footage without having to access via SD card? I'm not bothered about recording but would like to be notified if anyone approaches front door whilst I'm away from home?

I’ll be honest with you mate, the notifications are hit & miss. For some stupid reason, you’ll get birds flying and you’ll get notified of that but if a person is walking near your yard you may not get notified - 60% of the time.

I would recommend this camera if you need to keep a lookout on your drive whilst away without needing to be rely on the notification alert.

I’m not too sure if you’ll get notifications without sd card, I think you won’t.

But you will be able to view the camera footage live from app

I have a 1080p one in a front bedroom window which works well with ir turned off and any external lighting, the back one is a pain as I have an extension which will block vision if placed in the window.

Do you get notifications when people approach your front door? I find the camera pretty bad for the notifications. Might try playing with detection range.

Not from that camera as it misses my path, that is just a general view.
I have a 1080p revolving one in my downstairs front window so we can watch the foxes playing on the lawn at night. That one spends 10 seconds on one spot (bookmarked position) and then 10 seconds on the other so to and fro all day and night, if someone approaches the door just after camera has panned it may miss them entirely if they leave quickly.
Is this the lowest it's been?
I have these and they are crap. Our house is at the end of the road and they don't pick up me driving into my street and parking on my drive right in front it, but they pick up the traffic going past 100 yards away at the end of the street. Also, after motion tracking they don't return to the exact spot where they were so eventually they end up looking at the wall next to the window.
