Yes these are good, and yes I have two myself. But why are most of the YI camera deals placed by a first time HUKD poster. It appears a bit unusual and I suspect it's self-promotion by the company flogging these...first time posters with very little HUKD experience appear to discover this deal and regularly post on this and the YI Dome camera.

Thanks for posting! Heat.

Does anyone have this who can comment on the practical benefits over the yi home 1080p and the yi home 2 1080p or are they all pretty much the same I use despite the slight spec sheet differences

Yi Home camera 3 is AI-Powered, thats I think the only difference,

AI- powered Human and Sound Detection

Yes I will follow it. I have the yi home camera 1080 and the yi home 2. Wider field of vision and hdr are the practical improvements on the version 2. However it can have issues with streaming at times - not sure if it’s WiFi is weaker or is putting through more data

Could this be used as a standard webcam for skype or is it specific for surveillance? and does it have a usb input/output?

Just had a look. They are pretty much identical. The only different is the Yi 1080p 3 has 2° less wide angle than the original and the Yi 1080 3 can take a memory card up to 128gb compared to 64gb on the original.
Not worth upgrading if you already have the original Yi 1080. I'm waiting on a newer release with a significant upgrade.
Hope this helps.
Difference Yi Home 2 vs 3 Difference

Check
Remember these are YI brand and NOT Xiaomi
Yes the yi ones are better, unless you are willing to hack the xiaomi variants.

My take is the 3 hasn’t fixed the possible buffering issues of the 2, despite reducing the frame rate and cropped the field of view. The 2 has 37% more ir leds which may account for why it has better night time footage.

In my opinion the first yi home camera 1080p is the most stable and image quality, depending on the environment is very very good. Not sure if the first one is true 1080p though

Damn
These are now Alexa (and I assume Google Home) compatible, take a few seconds to load and the feed is about 10 seconds behind live
Any way to use these as a webcam? Webcams are almost unobtainable at the moment with everyone suddenly working from home.

This is amazing that these require no power supply.

This will be great for when I can't be bothered to walk from the kitchen to the living room to see what the rest of the family's up to
