  • BEST-IN-CLASS IMAGE QUALITY & NON-INVASIVE NIGHT VISION: Enjoy clear live-streaming and video footage in 1080P/30fps. The camera's 110° wide-angle lens with distortion correction and 4x digital zoom mean you will never miss a detail. See crystal clear images even in total darkness with no visible glare, thanks to the enhanced night vision with 8-infrared adjustable LEDs.
  • HUMAN & ABNORMAL SOUND DETECTION WITH ACTIVITY ALERTS: The AI-powered integrated human detection technology can recognize a human shape and differentiate it from other kinds of motion, such as flying insects, small pets, or light changes. Advanced sound analytics can detect abnormal noise between 50 and 90+ dB like a smoke alarm or shattering glass. The camera will send relevant activity alerts directly to your smartphone.
  • SCHEDULABLE ON/OFF & CUSTOMIZABLE ALERTS: The schedulable on/off function lets you set your camera's operating time for each day of the week. You can also adjust the alert frequency and the motion sensitivity level from low to high according to your needs, as well as completely disable your camera's motion detection. Only be alerted about the moments that matter to you most!
  • YI CLOUD STORAGE: Anytime activity has been detected by your camera, a 6-second video clip will be stored on YI Cloud and can be accessed and saved to your phone for 7 days via the YI Home app, with no additional cost or limitations (other storage options and other smart functions are available). LOCAL STORAGE: 8 - 128GB Class 4 and above micro SD cards are supported.
  • EFFICIENT DATA COMPRESSION: Enjoy faster live video streams and high-quality images while using 50% less of your home network thanks to a much lower bit-rate used by the enhanced video compression format. ADVANCED SECURITY: The optional pin-code to access the YI Home app and end-to-end encryption (the same used in the banking industry) via EU-based servers ensure full security and privacy for all of your videos.

Do these work with Alexa?

I've got mine in an Amazon smart plug and works great
What's the difference between the two Yi cameras in this picture or are they the exact same model? Or is the top one a Yi Camera 3 and the bottom one a Yi Camera 2? I think it is described as a 1080p model.

Not if it's a new deal. I didn't see yesterday's one that did expire apparently. It's a great deal but who needs it when were all at home for the next 2 years?!

Yes it’s the same deal less than 24 hours so the op or moderators may decide to sort it or merge. If not, the other one has some answers to the questions already.

I don't think you understood my question 😁
It is exactly the same deal as yesterday - why as this one been allowed? Normally you'd get an email from the mods saying it's already posted.

In terms of viewing the camera, not very well, if I ask to show 'Yi Camera 1' - it comes up but buffers every second (on a fire tablet), so it's certainly not the most user friendly.

I'm hoping they fix this issue, as i've got 7 of these cameras now and would love to be able to see them on my Fire Tablet's.

I did this before I bought the Yi Outdoor, it was ok, but not the best at night through a window.

I'd just opt for the Yi Outdoor if that's what you're after.

Yesterday's technically expired yesterday. This is a "New" deal for the 25th, even though it's exactly the same. I guess Yi was happy with the sales and wanted to extend the offer.

TBF the OP did post that in the description..

I've had deals cancelled in the past as someone had posted the same a week before that was expired and the Mod just revived the original. Technically they are a rule unto themselves and for that reason I stopped posting deals. You'd think the experienced posters would do the right thing , not steal a newbies thunder.

In fairness, I to have experienced the same as you. Guess it's Mod pot luck.

I don't think they are "stealing thunder" though. Was probably just a spot that it was back on. I think maybe because these codes actually did state they expire at the end of the day on the 24th and it is a different code for today, the Mods have allowed it as a new deal.

Anyway it is still a decent deal regardless of who posted it on which day
Good price and I would say good for what it is. I would raise concern about the security aspect, we heard people talking in on ours, we used ours as a baby monitor, which was really scary. Read online there were others experiencing the same. We didn't see any other unauthorised logins on our account and the cancers is connected to a different VLAN and WiFi AP at home. Going to re appropriate as a security camera at the front door.

Others may have been more fortunate. Just our experience.

Mine runs like that... just turn off the infrared leds in the app, the night vision is still very good.
Just as an FYI for anyone interested in flashing the firmware so it's not completely tied down to Yi.

How do you know which firmware your camera has to start with ? don't want to brick em !
Has anyone had issues using these on their chromebooks? Since the last update the yi home app crashes as soon as i click to view the camera. It all works fine on another tablet and on my phone.

I'm quite sure since around Sep/Oct all these have been MStar chipset.
When I first got my ones (Nov) I tried the old firmware hack and then the new one in my link.
The wrong one didn't cause any issues, it was just ignored.

The firmware updates only if the correct files are present and the filenames are model/chipset dependant.
Highly unlikely you'll do any damage with the wrong file.
That was the case for me but obviously I have to say it's at your own risk.

There may be something on the back of the camera that you can Google to give more info.

That’s great info, thanks. I’ve flashed a few of these using Yi Hack V4 - all went really well. Purchased another 1080p a couple of weeks back and tried to flash unsuccessfully. This is clearly why. I noticed the MStar hack. Could you perhaps share your experience in terms of setup and whether you’ve had issues in flashing using MStar. Aside from downloading the correct files to add to SD card, is there a requirement (like Yi Hack V4) to pay developer a few to obtain required RTSP functionality?

The MStar flash has gone through smoothly every time. I have six of these (I'm not paranoid - half of them are used to keep an eye on pets!) and I've flashed them all twice so far. Most recent about a week or two ago.
They've all gone through without any issues so my experience has been good.

I've not paid the developers and RTSP functionality is available and working.
I use RTSP on all six and it works very well. I should add that I don't have constant software recording/monitoring - I just take a look at the various feeds when I need to.
Depending on your WiFi setup, constant stream from a load of cameras can affect your general WiFi speed for other devices too.

SD card recording is fine for me and I have disabled 'cloud services' which means no connection to Yi servers (no Yi app functionality either).

I feel guilty now as this kind of dev/test work does take some effort - I'll take a look to see how to make a donation to the devs for their efforts!
Thanks for that. Is setup similar to Yi Hack V4? As in, you configure via URL after flashing? I don’t use cloud services on my Yi Hack V4 so that wouldn’t be an issue. I record to SD card. Is Yi app totally disabled or have you just chosen not to use it. I always use home app to view but, on occasion, I do glance at the yi home app clip recordings. Not a deal breaker but a bit of a shame if I couldn’t do that anymore. How does ‘live’ stream perform when viewing through home app? Are you using Homebridge FFMPEG plugin? Sorry to bombard you with lots of questions but your responses are really useful to me (and I’m sure others). Thanks.

Yeah, setup is pretty much the same - via the camera's IP address.
The Yi app part is optional. In the config screen you can switch on/off the Cloud (it give's a an option to still record to SD without if you choose to turn cloud off)
So disabling Yi app is optional and you can still use it exactly as before.

One thing I would suggest, if you can, give your cameras static IP addresses so that you can always get to it. Not really an issue for you if you're keeping Yi app and Cloud service on.

Sorry not sure about Homebridge. I just use IPCams to watch the feed on my phone (RTSP) and it works great. There's a 0.5-1s delay but that's just due to how the feed processed.

No worries with the questions - just let me know if I've missed anything or you have other questions.
Honestly - so helpful. I give all my things static IPs for the reasons you state so all good. Will give my camera a go with this and see how we fair. If ok, I may well DM you with a few extra questions. Again, really helpful comments - refreshing to see!! Thanks!
