This keeps on dropping in price. In the 2/3 weeks, this is the third price drop. Cheapest so far. Can it get any cheaper?

is it compatible with smartthings?

Ordered. Looks the business. If not amazon can have it back. Got it for the Mrs just so I can use it, she’ll be thrilled lol.

The helpful point he was making is that although the page shows 28 reviews for the product, they are all for the 1080p model and not this one which isn't immediately obvious at first glance.

Thank you

I have 2 of their dome cameras which are good but thing about Yi is each camera needs a separate subscription or am I wrong?

So you have tried using a single subscription then?

ok, have a look through the Gearbest reviews for this then.

edit: just had a glance through, be aware of firmware updates and region bans.

I have this camera and its great! Easy to setup using Mi Home and with installed SD card can record continuously. I have setup a motion detection which pings to your phone within the time you specify.

I dont think you can use these with IFTTT or SmartThings yet but solid for the price and applicaiton

"Home security company Y-Cam has enraged its users after pulling its free lifetime cloud storage for its internet-connected cameras.

Customers were told they had 14 days' notice to download any footage they required before the free service was deactivated.

Y-Cam will now offer one year of free seven-day rolling cloud storage for its new cameras, while existing cameras will lose their ability to record unless a £2.99 a month or £9.99 a month subscription is paid. The cameras cannot store video locally, meaning Y-Cam's own service is the only option for storage.

Yeah seen that too. Its pretty annoying and it happens with all brands who offer cloud storage....

could do with 2, any way to get £20 off each cam? Guessing ordering from another account would be the easiest way

Just to be clear, Y-Cam and YI are not the same company, no connection at all. While on the subject though I would suggest everyone avoid Y-Cam like the plague given the way they have treated customers. Do not trust anything they say and avoid at all costs. For anyone that hasn't been following the story but happen to have an old Y-cam and they purchased from Amazon, there is a high chance you will get a refund if you contact them, no matter how old it is. broken or otherwise.

I purchased this a few days ago with the £17 off promotion, anyone know if I can get this offer? its not even been delivered yet, I know it's only a £3 saving but I would rather have it than amazon

Check out the T&C's you agree to allow them access to your personal data

Many thanks @KendallC! Thanks to you I have just been on to Amazon customer service and they have offered a full refund of £80 on the return of the Y-Cam. It's a shame Y-Cam seem to have destroyed their business in such a spectacular fashion.

I'm not convinced YI Home Camera is an alternative for me though. I'm happy to pay more to get a reliable and secure alternative to the Y-Cam, but without subscription fees, so would appreciate any other recommendations...?

just got one with a sim for the extra penny, cheers

Ah! My bad. The joy of branding with too similar names for a similar product.

Turned up today. Easy setup, picture quality is a bit meh. Washed out colour, soft image. End of the day, it works. For £20, yeah ok, for £40 gtfo. Irritating you cant record on the PC app as that would make it a bit more useful. Flashback Express would easily solve that problem though

Now to go hide it in the bedr.....
