This would be designed for a left hand drive car, so surely you would actually miss part of the foreard view due to the original mirror housing?

I am curious to get some feedback from you?
Is it not overly big when installed over your current internal mirror, and what is the rear camera like for installing, is the cable long enough?

I got this too

It definitely seems big, but now realistically the exrta size is pretty nice. My original mirror was sized to be an exact fit for the rear window, so sitting any different ruined the view.

I have a Ford Focus, the cable for the rear view was enough to reach the back of the car with about an extra 75cm to spare, installing it has 2 options, 1; sticky pad. 2; screws.
I installed it inside, and I haven't wired it up to the reverse lights, very easy if you are the least bit competent with car DIY

I don't think I'll use the reverse camera though as the video isn't bright enough in day time

What's the advantage of this one versus the 7" screen versions for about £35?

Seems like you're paying extra for less screen estate, unless I'm missing something obvious.

That's definitely a different mirror. It looks smaller, has buttons on the mirror and the camera is more recessed than the one in this thread. The camera on this may not suffer the same issues as may stick out far enough to miss the existing mirror.

Looks good, how did you wire it in? Did you just use the cigarette lighter port?

Tempted to buy one of this, However I don't like wires running around from cigarette lighter port. Unless you run the wires underneath of the frames.
I have something very similar,I don't know the brand name though, the button layout and rear camera fixings seem the same. The model I have is too wide when you forget it's there and you try to put the sun shade down the wider mirror gets in the way. My one was a gift and after a couple of days it forgets some of its settings and stops recording for a while until it wakes up. I appreciate it may not be the same model but I can assure you the width will be a hassle for some.

The mirror is big but is much better than my original A4 mirror. The cable is long enough I have tucked the cabling in is surprisingly neat and easy to do it yourself
Yeah, similar opinions to others, I have similar unit, you get used to it quickly, the slight issue CAN be, the sunvisor, it will catch it, mine is OK on drivers side, but 'er indoors(passenger side)...when she forgot, almost took the mirror off the windscreen!!..
But love mine now, almost forget its there..

I am a fan of techmoan, but he's got it wrong on this one. First of all he's talking of a different model. The camera is on the right side, the display might not be in the best place for that model, the Yi seem to have it central. The camera can be adjusted, even techmoans' could have easily moved the new mirror a bit to the left and adjust the angle. I am using a similar model and it's brilliant, acting as a reverse camera, also a dashcam with front and back recording. Absolutely nothing to complain about it.

I literally tucked it away under the trim only wire you see is about 6 inch cigarette lighter side and a couple of inch at the top of the mirror.

See my previous comment. The rear view camera has wires I assume you attach to your reversing light but I haven't bothered it still seems to record maybe that's to automatically switch the display to use for reversing but I wouldn't use that anyway just mirrors.

Using a phone to take a picture of your dash cam while driving. Why is it that most people with dash cams appear to be terrible drivers? People need to look at their own driving as well as others and think about what caused the incident in the first place. Hint, It was you!
I don't understand this, surely if brightness is an issue you would be only able to use it in the DAYtime?

Is it THAT bad, that you can't see anything unless it is dark? That is probably a deal breaker for me unfortunately

It's not the end of the world bad, I just didn't need the thing for reversing camera, I just needed front and back dashcam
i would not waste my money on this . had a similar one and its useless.
1 its designed for left hand drive , the camera points to the left field of view, missing a bit of the scene ( the right side ) ,to remedy this you have to tit the mirror until you loose the mirrors purpose and then your mirror will block part of the camera view . so no solution really.
the image was ok daytime not good but ok . night time was ..... night . nothing visible from 2 meters away . the back camera was worse daytime and just like switched off night time .
the dual mirror camera is a brilliant idea but the quality has not improved yet compared with the conventional dash cams .

Still moaning about this? You knew the risk before buying and you have just got unlucky. Ordered a phone case and a pair of ear phones 9 days ago and received them today using free shipping. Never had any trouble with aliex

i have been looking for the ideal one for a while and , all i concluded is that the quality is not there yet. there is one but not a mirror camera its 2 single camera connected together and sharing the front camera`s screen .
on the review video in the second or third post the guy has done a lot of reviews about dash cams just have a look at his youtube channel , ( techoman . i think)

What?
I used one similar to this for viewing my kid in a rear-facing baby seat instead of setting up a series of mirrors. It worked very well for that purpose.
