Ah, but can you really trust the man who's bought the more expensive option to give an impartial view?
Are these made in the North East - "YI"?

I just returned a £200 Arlo system as the quality sucked. Range was terrible, night filter on one stuck on pink for daylight images, quality wasn't very good. While the £20 YI from last week seems far better, admittedly not an outdoors model.
Love the YI camera ranges and for the prices they go for, it's a no brainer.... Keep em coming YI :P

Well, I bought three brands and rank Ring stick up cam the best, closely followed by the Canary, with the Yi being last. I am referring to the quality of the footage / speed of accessing live footage. I would prefer the Yi to be best as it would be better for my wallet. Sadly, it seems it’s cheapest for a reason.
I've got the YI 720 version. It's exceptionally good. Quality is great on every aspect. Only slight issue is the size of the connector that requires you to buy a waterproof junction box to house.
Thanks OP - I was happy paying £80 for these in the past and they rarely go on offer so £60 is a bargain.

I'm sure those two cameras are better but I have never had an issue with the image quality of the Yi cameras (have the 1080p outdoor ones, the 720p indoor ones and some 1080p dome cameras) and they have a good free tier for cloud storage as well. What exactly didn't you like about the Yi camera? It's got a massive field of view (if you disable image correction) and it's sharp enough to see peoples' faces and read car number plates.

I tested by putting the Yi and the Canary side by side and compared the two over several days. The Canary quality is better, hands down. Cloud recording prices for both are the same, if using voucher code. But the Canary is more expensive to buy, at least double.

If you want to do the same, buyboth and compare side by side, you will also see.
Are there currently any voucher codes available for the cloud recording for these?

Ive got the indoor 1080 ones and they're brilliant, thinking of sticking them under the fascia boards outside but not sure if they'll last long? Anyone else done this

Their cloud is so cheap starting from 2 euro a month. Plus 1 month free from the start..
This looks like it's wired. So do you have to basically drill a hole to feed wire directly through to your TV?

Don't know anything about these cameras but know I need something

I have had a canary but got annoyed with them removing features forcing you to subscribe. Bought a Yi and found it much better. Way easier to set up and so many more free features that you have to pay for with canary. And the camera is allot cheaper.

I’ve heard this argument before. But ignoring free features and assuming both devices are with a subscription, so comparing like for like, Yi with sub and Canary with sub, the ongoing costs are similar (with voucher code) but the Canary is more expensive to buy the device. Side by side, the Canary quality is better.

The Yi camera has a perfectly functional free tier which is what I am using over 8 cameras. Sorry but if the Canary is twice the price, it had better be better quality as well. The Yi camera is not bad at all, I would call it good, and what more do you need than 'good'?

Very good.
Yi cameras are really good, I've owned a couple. This camera however is a pain to fit because of the lead. Because I'm this I'm just going to hold out for Nest Hello.

Footage anywhere? A quick YouTube and most of the Canary, and Ring for the matter, footage looks like crap. Like it is a recording of stream footage. The Yi examples all look as I would expect, sharp and clear.

I think he means why would you buy both and compare side-by-side. Surely you’d buy one and then if it’s not good enough (which I find hard to believe), you would return it and buy another - just that every Yi camera I’ve had has been fine, in fact, better than fine, even the 720p ones.

You’re being really obtuse and defensive about this, I only asked you a valid question about what do you need better than ‘good’ and you helpfully answered ‘very good’. I mean seriously... for twice the price plus subscription?

Well I’m happy with the Yi camera anyway, thanks OP.

To be fair I brought a echo and Google home to comprise side to side.

I had a outdoor one but brought one for indoor didn't ended up needing it, throw it up in the back garden with case I got case and 720p cam for £30

Why was your dad naked? How did that affect his SD card?
I have this camera bought for £80 about 6 weeks ago. Fitted outside watching a long drive way. Picture is very good. I have a 64gb microSD card ... Records around 5 days of footage and the app works great. Heat from me.

This would probably be funny if I hadn’t actually punctuated my original sentence grammatically correct. But I did and it’s obvious what I meant.

Okay. I’m torn between a VW Passat and a Ford Mondeo. Forget about the wealth of reviews and information on the internet, I’ll buy both and compare them side by side.

oh dear I’ve just realised I could have afforded a Mercedes with that money.

Hilarious as that is, it’s not really a comparable analogy. You can’t easily buy two cars and return one but with small electronics from Amazon you can do exactly that.

Have you seen the reviews on the Ring devices. I was going to buy one. Except half the time they don't work. Loads of false positive motion detection. Over priced and not fit for purpose. Ring.. pff. Garbage.
Is this made in Newcastle?
One man against the YI supporters. Good try though xD
The reviews on Amazon say it all tbh. Oh wait, now will have to wait for the "Well most of them are fake" comment
Received this camera a couple of days ago, it works well, better than expected as the android app is better and better than the Chinese mi home app. Quality of video is perfectly good (for me), suitable for most, I would imagine. Optional on board micro SD means you may need to position the camera out of easy reach. Alerts work well, too, think I'll have another at this price. Thanks OP.
Edit: or maybe too late, back to geekbuying I guess(awaiting stock to Germany though pretty much the same price).

Expired; or am I missing something?
Blink cameras are all sorts of good. Admittedly I only have the indoor ones but I love them. Ease of use. Normal aa batteries. Yeah. Cannot recommend enough.
