Question for owners, how long is the power cable?
anyone use the hacked firmware for this camera?

Yes works well. On the live stream it keeps dropping in and out, not sure if it's weak wifi or interference or the firmware. You milage may vary.

I think it is 3m and there is an extension cable 5m for it which I used previously. Works fine together.
Thank you. How are you finding the camera?

Do you have a url link to where I can buy this extension cable that you’ve previously used?

It is a nice camera, very reliable. Provides good quality videos and pictures. Nightmode is not the best. I’m using 64gb memory cards, which takes 3 weeks 24/7 recording. Weather doesn’t bother the camera at all. Very easy to setup. Never dropped wifi yet.
Once police was investigating something in my area. They borrowed my memory card. The incident happened about 30 meter away from my house and they found useable data on it. So, if you buy a camera go for full hd, with memory slot. The other once with subscription only a no go.
I’m using yi outdoor for years and still happy with them. The app is updated regularly.

Perfect, thank you. My research thus far has also led me to this as a top choice.
I used a usb cable to extend a couple of years or so ago and had problems. It was one I had laying around. I bought a usb3 3 meter cable and everything has been fine since. It may be that the 1st cable was old and damaged somewhere or it maybe that usb3 cables are built slightly differently

Would a 10m extension work, can see its only £2 more and I guess always handy to have a little bit extra then fall short.
Anyone use a 128gb SD card?
Just ordered 2,
Hi wonder if I get some help. The alerts are only 6 seconds long. Is there a way to increase the duration

When the 6 second clip to alert you has finished it should have two buttons on screen to rewatch it or go to the footage. Choose the latter and you will be taken to that point on the memory card where you can forward and rewind as much of the video as you want.

You can even record as much as you like of the footage from there to your phones photo library. If you don’t have an sdcard inserted in to the camera should really get one.

If you are determined not to have an sdcard in there, yi can store either all continuous footage or just footage based around motion for a monthly fee.

Having an sdcard is good though, eg. if you have a serious incident the footage is excellent when transferred to a laptop or PC.

Thank you for comprehensive reply however when I click on go to footage, nothing happens. I have 32GB memory card in there and it says that memory card is in good condition.

I wonder why mine is taking so long? I'm even a prime member, so usually delivered in one or two days. Never mind, I'm not going anywhere during this lockdown so me & my dog will be my security Thanks for the reply kalam84kalam

Oh that’s not good. Can you go to the camera live feed on your app and rewind to that point manually? If is there just no recording on that day/time? Before calling on Yis help might be worth the hassle of taking the card out and checking it’s specs, looking at its contents on a laptop/pc and formatting in there. Then place back in the camera and format again from the camera. Thinking about it, I’m sure I’ve had this before

Try formatting the SD Card, you can do this from the App.

I have done this but didn't help. A way around is to go on live camera and then playback if needed.
Any chance I can add this camera via the Xiaomi Mihome app? Rather than using the YI app?

I have a load of other Xiaomi sensors and cameras connected via mihome.

You tried the custom firmware? Version 4is the latest

EDIT: Mine is expected delivery 1 May as well, despite being a prime member. Fair enough, hardly essential stuff.

I ordered on the day this deal was posted and my expected delivery date was 1 May too. I happened to re-visit the product page yesterday and noticed it said delivery by Thursday so ordered on the off chance. Confirmation email confirms delivery by Thursday so I deleted my previous order. Worth a try.
