When was the last time you raised $2.5mil in a month for charity?

Yeah with their minecraft ripoff that they never even managed to release

Just looked in to this and this does not seem true at all, they had an indi dev develop the game that promised them more than they could give, so the yogscast gave people a load of games instead (above the value of the initial donation).

oh and then went on to donate 14! times the amount they raised on kickstarter to charity.... so far

Because you're having a go that they're being dishonest because they're giving themselves and their guests a wage for a months work, yet they still manage to raise millions of dollars each year... Just wanted to know how much you gave to charity seeing as you were on your high horse.

This year subs/ads for December will NOT be donated to charity! Instead, streamers and guests will share the earnings as normal.lol......

Can't really see much fault in people keeping their usual income whilst spending an entire month raising money for charity.

Did this last year and got a complete load of tat. Only saving grace is that it was for charity. This year already looks bad, Rust has been in about 1000 bundles already and I'll still never play it.

Has it? Never seen Rust in and bundle myself!

Doesn't look great, Rust is probably going to be the best game in it.

I think you're being a little overly offended there. They're giving away literally every donation made for an entire month, with the main owner and anyone willing to also giving away any income from the subs or ads as well. But you see it as a ploy to somehow replace and exceed that money with ad and sub fees?

As far as sneaky strategies to generate a higher income go, it's a godawful plan.

do some of the games tend to run out after a few days with yogcast, like some of their other larger bundles do? Have all but the Garry's Mod on the Day 1 list. How did you find out about what Day 1's titles would be?

Well saying that the money from their subs/ads will 'NOT be donated to charity' kinda implies that they are now doing it all just for themselves.

But it's easy for you to bash them and keyboard warrior about them , end of the day this deal isn't terrible and they'll still raise loads of money

Well actually that was a cut and paste from their own announcement, not my words.

Read down to the faq section

End of the day I don't care if they keep the money or donate it, some will, some won't. I just found it interesting that they would post that, hence adding the 'lol' on the end. To me the real 'heroes', who won't be getting much of the limelight, are the producers donating their wares for HB to sell. Lets just hope its not as kak as last years

Well its the first.. And no bundles started..

I did this last year and wasn't impressed.

From what I remember back when they were two blokes in a flat making minecraft videos they loaned their IP to a game production company to create a Yogscast game and ran a kickstarter to finance it.

The production company turned out to be inexperienced and wasted the budget. By this time a couple of years had passed and the Yogscast were now a professionally ran business, when the developer wanted to run another round of fundraising the head of the Yogscast looked at what they had and decided the game would never be completed so shut it down.

As far as I'm aware they then covered all backer pledges and supplied keys for a similar game out of their own pocket. Still not great but kickstarters fail all the time.

Are you one of those who just reads any old headline, doesn't look into it and then spreads it around even if it's nonsense?

Or do you just make stuff up?

I've not looked into it myself, so there's a bunch of irony here.

That one isn't really on them though.

Few years ago everyone was trying to make the next minecraft and most failed.

Both of these announced titles so far are nothing close to £25. There better be good titles announced soon or I'm not jumping on this.

Love Rust, Garrys Mod is enjoyable, not sure on the other games upto now. But £25 to charity... Happy Days.

As usual with these bundles, if anyone ends up with any spare keys (or from elsewhere), donations for my weekly giveaways are very welcome.

That's 6 of the (60+) games so far (the reddit article mentions the numbers)... Maybe we need to have the deal re-highlighed after a good few games.
Gunpoint is a well-reviewed game added today:

I think there were a few last year that ran out. The reddit article I mentioned in the Codemasters bundle deal had details pre-day 1.

Odd to give just DLC (Warhammer Vermintide Dwarf DLC added today). Hopefully means that game will be on a future day, but so far not much for me to get excited about.

looking at the things they're releasing so far daily, not including the opening extra titles, it looks like the 60+ figure is probably going to be including the DLC tat and ebooks, as so far, ok only 2 'new days' in, its 1 game + 1 miscellaneous

Got burned by these scam artists with their kickstarter which is reported by the developer that they pocketed £150,000 in licensing fees and such so they can bugger right off

Literally ignoring the facts and covering for them. They pocketed £150,000 in licensing fees and didn’t hire the programmer they were supposed to with this or ship the physical rewards. They gave keys to another game to some backers (never sent me one) and that game has also now dead in the water. All the while saying they can’t refund people whilst now making hundreds of thousands on YouTube and alike. Scammers is the only description

wonder if we'll get a new typical Tuesday bundle today or if stuck with this yogcast and racing rubbish

after 7pm - yup - looks like stuck with just these 2 Why oh why is that racing tat a 3 weeker
