What chaff.
For those who missed out on this but are looking for a high performance budget racket, I'd highly recommend the Karakal Aero Speed 777. It's a budget racket in the sense that its RRP is just over £30, but the performance is exceptional and in my opinion matches a lot of more expensive rackets. A number of people at my club are now using these over more expensive alternatives. You can pick it up for just under £20 from Amazon (one left in stock at time of posting) or £20.99 from Sweatband.com, and at that price I'd highly recommend it.

EDIT: Just a quick note from a comment made below. This is a very light racket, so if you are one of these people who prefers something slightly heavier then it may well not be for you, and indeed to get the most from this racket you do need to have decent technique. But for those who do want something like this it is an excellent budget choice.

Gutted I missed out after looking at this yesterday. Then again not sure if it was in stock when I looked. There might only have been a few at this price.

Many thanks for the heads up on the Karakal. I'll pop to the Sweatband shop at the weekend and pick one up.
Yonex Armotec 30 is still in stock for £14.99. Down from £60.
TBH, for anyone who missed this deal, don't try to look for cheaper alternatives from other brands. For badminton, it's either Yonex or nothing.
So I would highly recommend the Armotec 30 for those who missed out.
Agree with Yonex, all the others just break when i smash it lol

imo, carlton rackets are better than yonex
Still available please unexpire...Yonex is a bit better than Carlton but Prince and slazenger are not that bad too.

Seems a little light for the less than average player. How is the balance on this racquet - head heavy/light? I may pick one up as a spare at that price. Personally I do like light racquets but you tend to need better technique with them. I currently use Ashaway Superlights which are 79g before grip and although very nimble, they do lack a little in smash power.
Regarding Carlton vs Yonex/Prince etc, trying to compare brands like this is a little daft. You give a much stronger player any racquet and he will wipe the floor with you with anything resembling a different racquet. Carlton, Wilson and Yonex have all supplied racquets to England players.

Gg1pl thanks for the suggestion. Just reserved the last one near my parents in Edinburgh. Dad will collect it for me and I'm up next week.

It's head light. And you are quite right; to get the most out of a racket like that you do need to have decent technique because by default the inherent power in it for smashes will be less than a heavier racket. For your purposes it sounds like it would be ideal, though. It's only very slightly lighter than the racket you currently use, so it should serve you well.

I made the recommendation because in my opinion it is an excellent price for a light racket that offers fantastic performance. But your warning about it potentially being too light for some people is entirely fair. I've edited my original post to clarify that.
