This is what we want and need for the whole UK. Forget HS2, forget Crossrail, without fast reliable broadband the UK will fall behind the rest of the world.

Worst company I've ever had the misfortune to deal with....
I’m constantly amazed they are still in business.

Hot and Cold
hot for York residents. Talk talk have been in stuck in York only for more than 2 years with their ultra fibre optic
No matter what you you pay for talk talk though the only way you would get a reliable or consistent connection or service from them would be if they threw in a package from a competitor for free, even then there would probably be something dishonest about the deal that would put me off taking it.
Great deal if you live in York.

What i said about them being dishonest with their promises really holds true when their slogan is "talk talk for everyone" and this service only applies to anyone from York, basically don't believe anything they say they will give you, ultimately you will get nothing from them, only it wont be acted as well as Gene wilder at the end of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, they would just make any claim that the problems with their service constantly failing is due to something else that isn't their fault and will charge you extra to diagnose because it's not a problem on their end. The only solution I found was switching provider, literally eveyr problem vanished instantly.

I think technically they aren't I believe they have been bought out at least once and it's actually another company just using the same name, but they are equally as bad now if not worse than they have ever been

I try to get it but the link sends me to a blank page. Has anyone tried to mix this one with a tv package or something?
If i lived in york id have jumped on this offer
My TalkTalk fibre works fine.
Pretty sure this is the standard price.
They havent started on over half of York yet and its been 2 years, they need to plough some money/men into this and get it throughout the country. Cant wait for it!!!

Bought out at least once? Where did you get that from?

To be be factually correct they split from Carphone Warehouse about 5-6 years to become an independent telco company. Still ultimately owned by the same majority shareholder though.

Lets be frank and honest, they’re not the best ISP but certainly not the worst. Customer service has consistently improved over the last 3 years (other big ISPs perform worse in reputable surveys) and their network is a lot more stable. Less customer churn each year as well i believe. If you wanted the best then go to Zen Internet who have a limited footprint and charge more.

Or - why don’t you just say you’ve had a bad experience which has left a bad taste so you want to stick the knife in!
How much cost after 24 months contract? How much it without line rental? Thanks.

You don't need to buy out your contract they will let you leave without penalty if you have speed or other issues. Just open a complaint and then demand to leave.
I have had this since October. I pay £29 a month for broadband + youview TV box. Regular download speed is about 250M but more if I use an ethernet cable. Sky broadband is woeful around here and virgin cable was £30pm for 50M fastest speed if you were lucky.

If you raise a complaint, they have 30 days to sort out your issues, otherwise you can leave for free.
Be warned though, document all phone calls, times, who you spoke to etc, try to get everything in writing, although this for me proved impossible, and be prepared to get demands for the remainder of the contract for months after you leave. I spent hours and hours on the phone to these crooks after I was allowed to leave. They are truly the worst company I've ever dealt with by some margin.
