Love this fish. I've added the other variety on offer too. Heat from me...

Aka river cobbler/catfish sounds more marketable as basa nevertheless a decent deal

Often in Waitrose on deal.Very nice fish

That river cobbler stuff is horrible. IMO £4 was over double what it's worth, so not quite a deal yet.

Beautiful fish I love this stuff

The marketable part for me isn't what it is or isn't literally called but that it's sustainable - which this fish seems to be at the moment.

Isn't river cobbler supposedly farmed in heavily polluted rivers in the Far East, and therefore maybe not so good for you?

Love this fish and £2 is great price

My favourite frozen fish.. Nice one !

It is. And is about £2.5 a kilo in asian supermarkets and fish mongers for years. One of the cheapest fish you could buy. Cheaper than cod, haddock, pollock, etc. Very nice taste though, but orientals consider this one of 'those cheap' type of river fish. Bit unscrupulous therefore, that they are selling this for a much higher price in mainstream supermarkets. Hence perhaps the rebranding. Go to your fish mongers and ask for frozen pango - don't mention the basa.

Don't forget delivery is free (minimum order £35)

aldi tempura battered basa fillets are nicer and cheaper than this gastro range

I hate the taste of the Basa, yuk,I avoid these as they taste weird.

I'd prefer haddock or cod, I wonder if Young's import their Basa from Vietnam?

No the Aldi ones taste rubbish. In line with what you'd expect from a budget supermarket though.

Cheap and nasty.

Good deal for these op, heat added.
