Clearscore is really good. It's always been free.
I only have one negative for not having a CC
I can get`em but don`t want too
In my books that is a Plus not a negative....

Yeah I agree with you, but a lot of companies will see you as a risk as you have never proved you can manage a credit account.

Why don't you get one with some bonus points or cash back offer - use it for petrol or something and pay off in full each month?

My wife was in the same boat, so we got an M&S credit card, used for petrol in her car only and paid off in full each month. Didn't have to pay any interest and got the odd £5 M&S voucher.
You might be better off getting your credit score from a well known company like Experian (also free) rather than a relative newcomer like ClearScore.
Warning accuracy is not their strong point, even if you try to get it corrected they will try to make it hard and annoying. IMO around 50% accuracy rate, which is not acceptable. In my case I had to refer to the Ombudsman and they had to pay compensation for bullsh*t content.

I do not understand how they are allowed to get away with such nonsense and others credit reference agencies are just has bad.

The lazy Information Commissioner needs to sort these credit reference agencies, if they cannot provide accuracy they should be closed down.

Totally agree. I moved house 14 months ago and they STILL haven’t updated my address even though I have voted and paid council tax in the new property. Shockingly bad info. Even though they’re showing an odd score for me 90% of the info they have about me is over 5 years old and incorrect.

I had the same, so I applied for one. Then it gave me a negative because my card limit was low at £300. Then it went up to £1200 and it was apparently still too low. The fact that every month without fail I have paid the balance in full mustn't look too good to credit reference agencies.
Go through Martin Lewis site Money saving expert (credit club) to get a free report every month.

I'm not sure what the definition of 'new' is in this instance, but I have been using them for a few years.
Noddle and experian do the same, all 3 differ in results but very good you gauge where you are and see your report
I've used clearscore for a number of years and they have always been accurate with the info they hold and always matches the information held by both noddle and experian
I’m not too sure what to make of them. My Experian credit report told me my score was 996 out of 999: brilliant. However, ClearScore rates me at 499 out of 700. How does that work?!

I am in a similar situation.
I just don't understand these credit agencies.

good for you
My experience is really good. I started at 250 took up one of there offers of an aqua card credit card - used it the right way and my score went up to 480 - I love this app

what did that achieve ? more credit being offered or lower rates, genuine question as I think these site entice people into really bad rates to start with ie aqua etc. I do not know enough to comment with any authority but it would appear they must have some reason (commission) to suggest available credit and if that is the case surely they would just send you in the direction of the best deal for them and not the person using these sites?

I check my file on all the credit agencies regularly and clearscore is the only one that can’t verify my address because it has a name AND a number. Apparently some companies use the number and some use the name which confuses they’re computers and spits out a blank file lol. I’ve asked them to sort it out but it’s apparently out of their hands.

Clearscore are just trying to get you to take out one of their offers. I took out a new CC with my bank & my Experian Score jumped up loads... on the other hand my Clearscore Score plummeted. That was after Clearscore kept telling me that the only thing holding my Score back was not having a CC

been using them for years, and they showed up a red blotch against my name, which i wouldnt have known about without this FREE service. i chased it up with them, and found out it was by mistake from my bank, fought that fight and they removed it from my history. theyve been great and are not new as far as i can tell.
To the question, when I went for a new phone I managed to get in contact as my rating had improved. Before that I was unable to
