EDIT: Added a new tier (YouTube Music Family) and updated to cheaper prices.

I saw this post over on Mydealz and, given the heat for previous Netflix, Deezer, and Google Drive (shameless plug ) VPN deals, I figured this would be pretty handy for us in the UK! Full credit to AlohaBoah on Mydealz.

Translated from German and edited, apologies if there is anything that doesn't make sense! Anyway, here it goes...

All three services for £2.04 per month including Google Play Music, which usually costs £9.99 per month alone in the UK. The first three months are free too! Youtube Premium family subscription for £3.60 too!

Finally, no ads on the Smart TV! Ad-blockers are not possible on all devices, so this is useful. You do not need two or three subscriptions , because Youtube Premium, Youtube Music & Google Play Music included. YouTube Premium gives you ad-free downloads, background playback on YouTube and YouTube Music, and access to all YouTube Originals.

How to access YouTube Music: Android, iOS, Web.

UK Subscription Prices:

1. YouTube Premium £11.99
2. YouTube Music £9.99
3. YouTube Premium Family £17.99
4. YouTube Music Family £14.99

Russian Subscription Prices:

1. YouTube Premium 199 RUB / £2.26 (Ad-Free Videos + Youtube Music + Google Play Music Included)
2. YouTube Music 169 RUB / £1.92
3. YouTube Premium Family Discount 299 RUB / £3.40 (6 devices at once)
4. YouTube Music Family 269 RUB / £3.06

How do I do this?

1. Connect a VPN to a server in Russia.
2. Visit YouTube.com, then click on your profile picture in the top right corner and change the location From Russia to UK.
3. Visit this link , then click on 'learn more'.
4. Enter Russian address and pay by credit card.

You may want to use @radeonorama's instructions instead, it is explained in more detail:

Connect to a vpn using Speedify, In speedify, drill right down on the connection to moscow #{number here}.
Create a new Gmail account whilst connected to the VPN.
Go through the payment process with your revolut card (make sure you have verified your revolut card by uploading ID).
If you're going for family membership, once it's all setup, add a uk payment profile which should change your location to the uk. Otherwise you'll get an error saying the family members can't join as they're in different countries.

How do I add a payment profile?

Click here, scroll down to country/region and hit the pencil icon next to it. Then press 'Create new profile' and follow the instructions. Credit to @radeonorama for explaining this so well, just summarised it.

I recommend using Speedify/Orbot for this trick (members have also reported success with PIA, Torguard, ExpressVPN and FreeOpenVPN), and using a new Google account to avoid any issues with your current one. Apparently this may only use the Russian music library instead of the UK one, but I cannot confirm this. You may also need to use a Russian VPN when adding family members, but not after that.

@bitcoin5 suggests also using a seperate device for this than the devices you will be using the service on regularly so Google can't link your Russian and UK Google account, preventing a ban (however unlikely this is).

Example of a Russian address:

City: My City
Street: My street 1
State: Tulskaya oblast
ZIP: 300000

What's the difference between the three plans?

Youtube Premium:

With YouTube Premium, you'll receive ad-free videos, downloads, background music on YouTube and YouTube Music, and access to all YouTube Originals (Google Play Music is included).

Cost: 199 RUB per month.

YouTube Music Premium:

With Music Premium, you can play or download music in the background without advertising.

Cost: 169.00 RUB per month.

YouTube Premium Family Plan:

A YouTube family plan allows you to share your YouTube paid membership with up to 5 other family members – aged 13 and older – living in the same household (residential address). As the account holder, or family manager, you must create a Google family group. You can invite family members to the group to share your YouTube Premium, YouTube Music Premium or YouTube TV membership with them. As a family member, you can use your own Google Account to access the YouTube paid membership. Your viewing and listening preferences are all your own – you'll continue to see your personal library, subscriptions and recommendations. These preferences won't be shared across accounts.

Cost: 299 RUB per month.

This took me an hour to post, the HUKD app was glitching a lot!
Connecting to Russian VPNs, entering false Russian addresses in order to obtain services by deception, creation of separate Google accounts linked to Russia, what could possibly go wrong?

Best case scenario

You do it, hot damn it works! Awesome. Saved a few quid!

Worst case scenario

When next attempting a flight to the US you're pulled into an interview room by the authorities and asked to explain your links to Russia. With you pleading innocence about once trying to get cheap YouTube premium via Russian VPN and your children outside in tears as the plane departs, they cancel your once in a lifetime 15k Disney florida trip, cancel your visa and blacklist you and your family from travel to the US on national security grounds. Your children disown you, your wife, husband or civil partner leaves you.

Still.. you saved a few quid with cheap ad free music on YouTube so it's all good

So do you always have to use the VPN and set the country to the same as when you registered (E.g. Russia) when you want to use YouTube?

Once you do it the first time, you don't have to mess around with the VPN again. However, country of registration must be kept as Russia, hence why I recommended a second Google account.

Yes
Do you need the family plan on top of one of the other packages?

Is it set up throwaway Russian google, sign up to family plan then make family members yours and families regular uk google accounts?
Or you can just set up a family share account.
So do you have to do this every month you want to make payment?

Nope, once only and it's a recurring monthly subscription.

Family plan will include YouTube Music, YouTube Premium, and Google Play Music for 6 accounts. I guess you could add your own account as a child, but terms say accounts must be under same address so I don't think that would stick.

I'm not going to root my device and void my warranty. Some people don't know how to root and some people are on iOS where jailbreaking is more difficult. Plus this allows access on the web. I think it's worth paying £2.04 a month as it's far easier.
Can I do all this in my iPhone or do I need to use a laptop.. great deal and good if you to answer questions...

Thanks a lot for this. Just did it on my personal Google account. Is there any worry of being banned etc from Google for doing this or should I be in the all clear?
Failing to see how this is a gaming deal
My friends and I are planning to do a family subscription to save money between the group. However, do we all have to have the same address shown on our Google account?
Interested, but your instructions are a mess! Title says Turkish VPN, but instructions say Russia? Which is it?

Heat for the effort though - will deffo look into this, ads in YouTube are annoying and have been considering Play Music!
Thanks, might give this a try as im on a 3 month trial for YouTube Premium

Sorry, made a few mistakes as it took me an hour to post and I was getting a bit frustrated with the HUKD app! I've clarified this as Russian VPN and I've removed the gaming group from this deal.

I'd recommend a seperate Google account. Haven't heard anyone being banned yet, just a bit of mess up with regions which caused problems which is why I recommend 1 account per region. However, if everything is okay for you, you should be in the all clear
The ads are annoying but not worth paying for to get rid.

If you don’t need to be on VPN after the initial set up. Then it’s good deal for someone after YT premium.

You can use your phone, just download a VPN app with decent Turkish servers (I don't recommend Hola as it's P2P so the other person can see all your data).

I recommend the ExpressVPN free trial as it's the only reliable VPN I've found that's 'free' and has a Turkish server but if there is any others you find, let me know.

Good luck!

By the way, I feel responsible for answering questions as much as I can as it's my post, so if you need to know anything else, I'll try and help

It depends, if you are a YouTube addict then it's worth it as you can't use Ad-blockers on some devices such as on a Smart TV and you can download videos for offline viewing. I only use it occasionally so it's not worth it for me. You don't need VPN after initial set-up so it's a good deal

I am considering switching from Deezer Turkey Family to YouTube Music Russia but Deezer works out a bit cheaper at around £2.50 (though it doesn't benefit from also having Google Play Music and YouTube Premium). Algorithms on YouTube Music are apparently very good though.

Yeah, of course this sort of stuff is possible on Android but on other platforms, YouTube Premium is the only way.

Maybe avoid the link in the OP as it will probably be HUKD's affiliate program messing it up. Just go on Russian YouTube and search for Premium, and sign up from there.

Make sure the VPN is showing as Russian by searching up something on Google and heading to the bottom of the page where it will suggest your approximate location.
jamie1510/07/2018 07:34

Yes, the same address is needed.

Just an update for anyone that's interested, I signed up to the family plan (normal UK plan) and tried sharing with my friends at different addresses. Seems to all work well, and all members joined successfully.

Brilliant! Which VPN did you use?
I've tried few of them and it shows up as Russia but if you go to buy anything it's comes up in UAH ( Ukrainian currency).
