Google have released YouTube music and premium in the UK finally.

If you have Google play music you can download the YouTube music app and just sign in to start using (not the YouTube premium)

New users can get 3 months free on either premium or music, no previous paying or free trial accounts will work.

Seems like for me ,if you have play music, you can not take out a trial on the premium either.

Look at the chart below for the difference Premium and Music premium change dollars to pounds, (cheeky innit)

There is also a free version of YouTube music explained below

Note, this is an early release of YT Music, but Google said that (eventually) you'll be able to move your playlists etc over from play music, and that Google play music will stay until there is parity between the apps. and

"Google Play Music subscribers in all other countries will automatically have access to YouTube Music Premium as soon as it becomes available there. And if you use Google Play Music, nothing will change -- you’ll still be able to access all of your purchased music, uploads and playlists in Google Play Music just like always."

Lol so this gives you a ad-free experience? What about when every single youtuber advertises in their videos... 'let me take a quick sec to talk about the dollar shave club' then they go on and on about the fu**In thing rather than just get on with the video
an ads blocker will do
I've found that the sound quality of YouTube is very poor in comparison to Spotify and iTunes.
So YouTube premium is nothing but a ad free experience.

Shows £15.99 after free trial
£12 a month is way too steep in my opinion, especially with it being $12 in the US, why do they get it cheaper?
I do watch a lot of YouTube, and I listen to a lot of music on Spotify premium, I was hoping YouTube premium would allow me to get rid of Spotify for YouTube premium, but, after seeing the reviews I have a feeling ill be paying for both

Thanks for the heads up, now I can finally watch Cobra Kai
Edit: - I previously used the 3 month trial on google play earlier this year and after getting the Youtube Premium trial I have access to google play music subscription again

Is there anything substantially different to this and Google Music?
Ad blocker like ublock can block adverts in YouTube/other video sites. Adblocker does not cost £12 a month
I look at it as Spotify premium/ play music/ Apple music type thing for 9.99 then 1.99 extra for no ads on YouTube plus background play etc...

Will they be getting rid of Google music as I have been signed up for years but have no interest in this new YouTube business
Been waiting ages for this. I hate adverts so much that it might actually be worth £10 a month to never see one again. Yes I know adblockers exist, but I don't have one on my TV, phone, Xbox etc...

No they say not at moment ,google just want to confuse the hell out of the remaining few google play music customers they have left
Is this where you can watch the karate kid t.v. show ?
I think I under appreciated ad blocker, they deserve the money more than anyone.

I would pay for it, if gets rid completely of ads on ipads (for the kids as they keep complaining the video disappeared and a website from the ad appeared.... well they touched the ad by mistake...) but can the same account be logged in few ipads at the same time?

* I signed up, I will test it myself...

** tested on 2 ipads, works great and no more ads on the right side column where kids click usually by mistake, works fine at the same time on 2 ipads

Does anyone know if you pay the £17.99 you still keep GPM (£14.99) family plan

Or is it

£32.99 ?!
You get 3 months free Google Play Music too. Doesn't matter if you've had a trial of it before.
It’s a shame that the revenue changes pushed a lot of the smaller channels to close down back in February. I do watch YouTube more than but this still seems a bit excessive. If ads are blocked the channels that pour time into creating content will get less revenue and have less incentive to create. I’d rather support a small channel with a bit of revenue I think
It says £15.99 after 3 months (the family plan is £22.99)
So it's totally clear what the price points are
Google has missed a trick..£9.99 (Single user) / £14.99 ( Fam Plan) for YT Premium incl YT music(GPM- why the brand name change!!) would have got them subcribers from spotify etc (if the quality of the music was the same). I know I would have!

if you're on android just download the youtube vanced apk
it's practically the same
Is it cheaper in any countries you can vpn to?
This deal would probably be hotter if it was just "Watch Cobra Kai for free" Other than that this service seems to be a solution to a non existent problem.
Missed this Haha! Been waiting for this for aaaages!😁
Is this in any way the UK rebranding of YouTube Red?
Background play is enough for me to shell out on this alone. I had YouTube Red for over a year when it was first in Beta in the states and various other times so been waiting for this for AGES. YouTube Music is also a great bonus - I've never used Google Play or Spotify but am embracing this now and been listening to stuff over the last couple of days. Did I mention background play??? Expensive but worth it for me!

As a big YouTube watcher I wouldn't want to use a web site all the time on my phone. Unless this works with the app too.

I just use Arktube to download YouTube as it also strips out the adverts.
Disgusting amount, should be a few quid a month max.

If you have an android device you can download an unofficial YouTube version that does background playback and no adds, you don't even need root access anymore.

This is only really useful for consoles and TV's which have no alternatives, even then it's a rip off unless they bring out some fantastic original content.
I didn't know this existed
Anyone know how to sub. to prime? I already pay for Google music but everytime i click on subscribe to Premium it only offers family, i dont have one im a single user
I'll be watching Cobra Kai, then cancelling my subscription
YouTube Vanced has provided me with an ad free YouTube experience with a pop out player + background play for months now... All in a handy APK
Complete ripoff Youtube premium is £15.99 which is double the likes of amazon prime . . . For what? No ads essentially -_-

That's exactly what this is

YouTube Red is going away completely and getting replaced with this worldwide.
