I know it's also on Switch but Vita version holds up well. Before you ask the major difference is that compared to the Vita version, the Switch has all the PS4 edition content which includes extra dungeons, accessories, party member count, some gameplay changes to Dana, and a bit more story content.

Ys returns with a brand new adventure for the first time in 8 years! Adol awakens shipwrecked and stranded on a cursed island. There, he and the other shipwrecked passengers he rescues form a village to challenge fearsome beasts and mysterious ruins on the isolated island. Amidst this, Adol begins to dream of a mysterious blue-haired maiden living in a unknown world. Join Adol as he unravels the riddle of the cursed isle and the blue-haired maiden Dana in Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA!

Unfortunately not, still £49.99
So good, fun and hard to put down, for sure my JRPG of the year so far. (playing on ps4 atm)
Got ps4 version on eBay for £27, second hand mind you... but the price of this is holding so well
Ooh tempted! I was going to get it on Switch, but I’m happy to give the Vita some love at this price! Cheers op!
Does it run well on vita?

It’s not quite the same, you would be better getting a different ys game or go for secret of mana.

Action rpg (control a single character with two CPU team members, but can quick change between them) Lots of lite-sub genre cross-over. Zelda-ish exploration, suikoden-ish villager recruitment, material gathering for upgrades, gentle side-questing, minor dynasty warriors style raid battles, and typical JRPG plot. Old skool-ish but with modern perks (immediate fast travel, anywhere save)
