maybe reviews are for a product sold by a 3rd party? should be fine from amazon.

It's highly unlikely that Amazon are selling a fake version. Those claiming that they got a fake product most likely bought theirs from one of the other sellers listed to the side.

I didn't think it happened but YES you can get Touche Eclat fakes out there...there's one on ebay at the moment that's around £7.49 delivered Buy It Now.

"...did a quick comp with the real touché éclat. To my horror I realized the cheap one had glaring inconsistencies. For starters, there is a photocopy of instructions in the box in an ugly font on the cheapest almost newspaper quality paper. Definitely never seen in any YSL product I've ever bought before. This was only in the one from this seller. The others had NONE. Red flag. Next, the fake is a good quarter inch or more longer, lighter gold, slightly different cheaper looking fonts. Removing the cap, the applicator is totally different. The original is fairly short, and flattened on both sides. The fake has a longer round plastic applicator. Side by side they're clearly different, with the cheap one a lot longer without any shaping, making for a messier application. Worst of all is the product itself. The genuine product is smooth as silk and very luminizing. The fake is like cheapo concealer in a tube. Thick and perfumed, no luminizing effect."

By the way, I'm not implying Amazon themselves are selling fakes, they should be fine; but of course I would avoid "too good to be true" third party sellers, on ebay, Amazon or anywhere else for these sort of sought-after products.

I would be confident that it's not a fake but if you are worried I assume John Lewis will price match this.

Fake? ...The whole point of this product is too look fake
