When they only did the No1 shade they said it was suitable for all skin tones and I think it does work for all. My skin is more like shade 5 but I've used that before but 1 is fine too - you blend it in. My MAC makeup artist friend says the same.

The reactive second comment made me laugh tho, because it's a classic 'can't respond appropriately or intelligently, so just swear'. Funny you didn’t ‘ignore’ though did you in fact you even took the time to visit my profile and vote cold on two of my posts! Shows what kind of person you are! Now get back in your tiny little box and find something better to do with your time

Shade 1 (which this is) is pretty much the only shade you’ll need! The only exception is perhaps if you’re buying for an older lady, then I’d go for number 2 as it’s a yellow tone, rather than a pink. I swear by number 1

What a stupid comment. It depends what colour your skin is to begin with. My friend who is Italian with olive skin uses 2. My Indian friend uses number 3, my other friend who is Sri Lankan uses 4.

No need to be a d*ck about it! Obviously if you’re dark skinned you can use the darker ones. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. 1 is the standard colour, especially if you’re Caucasian and under the age of around 50. Hence why that’s the colour you get in this set

Like for anyone? I'm more of a MAC shade 40 (bit darker than Beyonce), would no1 still work? If not, then who is 'you'?

It depends what you use it for, but yes it will still suit you as a highlighter if you blend it in

You’re totally right in regards to this.... YSL originally only sold the 1 shade, I tan easily in the summer and get a very dark tan, I can still use shade 1 when I’m tanned! It’s a cult product for a reason and every make up artist will always have shade 1 in their collection.

Thank you and danjd, that's very useful to know. Think I will buy!
You mostly use this for dark circles under your eyes so you need a light shade. You then apply your normal shade makeup( foundation) over it.
Make sure you rinse brush after use to make it last longer.

They were posts from months ago that hadn’t been voted on since then, both received votes at the same time as this lovely person was calling me stupid for trying to help someone. So I put 2 and 2 together. The lack of response suggests I was right!
