Yep. I use them for chopping onions. They don't go in my pocket though, …Yep. I use them for chopping onions. They don't go in my pocket though, and they don't have to try to look aggressive like these. Not many people genuinely need a penknife these days. I see no reason why they shouldn't be available via license only, for the likes of Ray Mears.

Are you insane? Do you really think some potential knife wielding psychopath is going to pop over to HOTUKDEALS before going out stabbing people or do you think maybe, just possibly he/she will open the kitchen drawer?
Much more likely this type of knife will be purchased by people for scouting, camping or gardening!!!

Funny you should say that. I've (almost) been a victim of knife crime, someone tried to slash me with a stanley knife; i.e. NOT a pen knife.

I also witnessed a girl pull a kitchen knife from her pocket outside a pub once, for "protection", again NOT a pen knife.

I've worked in retail for many years and been involved in shoplifters detention prior to arrest. Often these are the kind of people who will carry a knife and they're almost always stanley or craft knives, hardly ever a pen knife.

Obviously knives that are designed for outdoor activities would be more suitable for threatening or injuring others but the kinds of people who would use a knife against someone aren't generally the same people that would spend a decent amount on a knife, wait for it coming from China or be particularly fussed about how it looks.

I'm sure there is a relatively small subset of potential knife wielding criminals who want an impressive looking item that they can show off to their friends and give themselves an ego boost when they flick open the damascus steel blade from it's heat treated titanium handle before ramming it in someone's face. Yes, nice (aggressive? really?) looking knives appeal to some people. No amount of licensing will stop young gang members from obtaining and carrying them and equally, no amount of licensing will deal with 99% of knife crime where the aesthetic qualities of the blade are of approximately zero concern.

Don't you watch crime programmes? Evidence photos of knives that were used in murders and robberies are almost never "aggressive looking". They're typically kitchen knives or very cheap, old and unremarkable looking pen knives.

"Not many people genuinely need a penknife these days" - i.e. YOU don't need a penknife, so you couldn't possibly fathom why anyone else would.

Presumably from a Chinese seller you don't even have to be 18 to buy one ? Why do HUKD (who have plenty of sub 18 year old members ) allow these to be posted ?

I always have a legal carry penknife on me, great if you need to open things, cut tape/rope/string and wire, i work as a gardener so i just see them as a tool!

I'm not a "knife connoisseur" but I do have a variety of knives that I use for work. I use cheap pocket knives to remove vegetation from masonry structures and I have some slightly better ones that I keep for cutting abseilling ropes. Sometimes I need to cut cable ties or nylon rope. The knife posted here would be ideal for me, since I actually use knives and don't drool over them as I'd imagine a "connoisseur" might.

I honestly don't understand any of the objections to this posting. Either people shouldn't be promoting knives because idiots might buy them or they shouldn't be promoting cheap knives because expensive knives are somehow more legitimate.

What sort of knives did those terrorist loons from the London Bridge attack use? Anything like this?

This idea that people should not be able to search HDUK to try and save a few quid when buying a sharp tool is insane.

Like how you use stats to make something sound worse.
How about the actual figure resulting from a 26% rise on 0.0005. Doesn't sound so big now does it. And that's if the 26% isn't already incuded.
Hope your not eating your dinner today with a murder weapon and fork.

Context is everything, if you bothered to see what I quoted you would see the figures proposed, another foolish one, got them all this morning.

I personally vote ever knife deal that looks like something that people might carry as a concealed weapon cold. If it's not a lock knife and penknife sized tool type then as looks legal I vote based on the deal. In the past I have even reported a UK seller not doing age checks that specialised in combat knives and nazi memorabilia to the police after they advertised them on a different forum to be carried in public and used as a weapon. I would like to see the site moderate these posts and ban lock knifes. People don't walk around towns with a kitchen knife in their pocket as would hurt themselves.

Christ it's only a bloody knife. Anything somewhat sharp and pointy can be used to stab someone, but no grief over all the fountain pen, kitchen utensils, tent pegs, lawn darts, pliers, etc deals is there? I could snap a PS4 disc in half and do some damage or crack you around the head with a £20 bottle of Jack Daniels. Everything posted on here could be used as a weapon in some way or another.

Could even cause someone with severe technophobia to suffer a heart attack by leaving printed out Steam keys around their house. Get creative

Really can’t understand the cold votes based on the potential use of the product as oppose to whether it’s a deal or not. That’s like cold voting a pair of safety shoes because someone has the potential to do severe damage with them if they kicked someone.

If you have a genuine issue with knife laws then voice those in an appropriate forum and try to change them; until then though a legal product being a good deal is a deal regardless of those opinions.

Voted hot as it would be a handy tool to have in my camping and/or photography rucksack for a whole host of reasons, surprisingly none of which involve assault.

HOTUK Deals has caused me to go broke, resulting in me considering buying this knife to commit crimes for money. I think HUKD should be banned.

Im struggling to understand you're logic,
Do you want to ban all knives, do you want to ban knives like this , do you want some sort of licensing in place, do you think we shouldn't advertise knives, do you think lesser advertising is going to have a impact on knife related crime...?
There are people that use knives for harming other people, ok, that's bad, what do you think we should do about it...
You've been rude and suggested other people are foolish , and yet you don't seem to be addressing the bigger issue of people that want to harm other people , the knife is just there chosen weapon, and it's as old as humans, and for good reason, it's the perfect hand held cutting tool....
We can't get rid of alcohol that kills hundreds of thousands every year , and why would we when many drink responsibly, we can't get rid of cars because it's our chosen mode of transport, even though it kills thousands every year,
My point is we can only try and make things that are potentially dangerous SAFER.
Thinking that removing a particular knife from a deal site,(and not a type that is used in the majority of knife crimes) is a step in the right direction is crazy and ignorant of the bigger picture, and is ridiculously unrealistic.

"the fountain pen, kitchen utensils, tent pegs, lawn darts, pliers" Am a big fan of the walking dead, I get your point but lets be honest people don't get a confidence boost and if feel aggrieved i know i will start a fight armed with a fountain pen. Pretty sure theres some science linking cause and effect to why knife bans are put in place. The USA has the same debate over guns its not "guns that kill people" then people leave them laying around and kids play with and get hurt etc.... nore guns knives on street equals bad, more pens..... not sure creates fear. Been mugged think if had held out a foutain pen, tent peg etc would have tought ok maybe will kick you in the balls.
