Been looking for a new Fridge Freezer on a budget, and this gets good reviews for the price.

Next cheapest I could find was £249 at Tesco, plus John Lewis give you a 2 year Warranty.

Read most reviews, on Reevoo too, mainly people complaining that they can't get 12 eggs in a 6 egg holder, or that they didin't realise how small the top drawer in the freezer was prior to purchase, most negative comments are based on things you can find out prior to purchase, not faults.

bestbuys are doing a hotpoint F/F 9 cubic feet for £199 delivery free if over 7 days or Beko F/F 9 cubic ft £229

comet have a 12 cubic ft combined fridge / freezer Beko £249 delivery £25

These were instore , not sure if online

Yes, see what ur saying - but u may not have know those little details from the description, and they would annoy me - our current F/F has no egg holder - I have to line a door shelf with kitchen roll and lay the eggs on that - annoying but I live with it ...and top drawer of our freezer is very small too - next time, since we have the room - I'd just get a bigger F/F

As many of us have discovered over the last couple of weeks, 'normal' fridge freezers like this don't work below about 5c ambient, which means they stop working in cold weather if they are in your garage or other cold place. If that's where you keep your fridge/freezer then you need a Beko - similar price to other brands but guaranteed to work down to minus 15c!

Currys and Comet are doing the FROST FREE version of this for £219 and £214, though Comet charge for delivery. I have been thinking about getting it though the reviews have made me think twice. I looked at it in store at Currys and it is a good size fridge but could do with another shelf - which is £25 from after market suppliers. It is narrow - 55cm - which will explain why reviews say you can't get a pizza in the freezer drawers if it's still in the box.

Best thing with JL is the two year warranty. Still undecided what/where to buy.

EDIT: Just looked again at JL and they have the frost free version of this in stainless steel available to pre-order for £250. This was a 'special purchase' deal a few weeks ago but sold out very quickly. I am going to pre-order that as I think an extra £30 for another years warranty and JL customer service is better than the Currys deal at £219, plus the colour will match our other appliances.

I have been checking regularly hoping this will come back in stock, so thanks OP as I might have missed it otherwise.

I know what you mean, people finding cosmetic things warrant a Negative in reviews is helpful to potential buyers, but it should only make you aware of what your buying, so you can compare better and make a better choice.

Thanks for the heads up, I had been watching the Stainless Steel Frost Free version for a while, but it just sat at 'Email me when in stock' - I have just changed my order to pre order this instead

You are welcome. It is saying 14 days for delivery so not too long to wait. Definitely worth looking at stuff like fridge freezers in the shop before you buy online, though John Lewis didn't have that model in stock when I visited. I wouldn't have thought about the fact that it could do with another shelf if I hadn't seen it mentioned in a review. That made me go look at the Currys one - and it does look like there is a shelf missing. But many of the other F/F's also looked like they had room for another shelf so I guess it is just a feature of current fridges.

My sister reckons it is to stop you stuffing the fridge full and thereby preventing the cold air circulating. I think it is to cut manufacturing costs.

I did go and look at thie white version yesterday, after i'd already ordered it, I was happy with it, it didn't seem any slimmer than the other models, but there is only about 2cm in it usually.

I also noticed the stainless steel version in the clearance section, and muttered to myself that was the one I really wanted, but they did'nt have any in stock.

It's actually more economical to keep the fridge or freezer full, as otherwsie your just paying to keep empty space cold. I think you can buy extra shelves.
