Featuring a huge 10kg drum, this Zanussi washing machine has enough capacity to cope with the demands of a large, busy household. AquaFall technology helps you to get the most out of your detergent. It works by spraying water and detergent from the top of the drum, creating a shower effect that quickly and evenly soaks your clothes for a thorough wash. The invertor motor helps to reduce noise and energy wastage as it is built with frictionless magnets rather than noisy brushes.

Cracking deal!
Bought this a few weeks back on another offer & love it. Cleans clothes very well and the 10kg drum has reduced the number of times the washer is on each week as it replaced a Samsung Ecobubble 7kg.
Not the cheapest to run 10kg washing machine, (that crown belongs to the Samsung WW10H9600), but by far the best value taking into account the purchase cost.

Heat given!!
Not the cheapest its been. Seen it at £230+ delivered

£210 actually.. By SSE SHOP
superb machine and worth every penny
Always good to recycle your own 4 month old posts...
"AquaFall technology" is just a recirculation pump, which all washing machines have had for years. But maybe some extra cheap ones don't have in inverter motor. The inverter motor makes it as quiet as the "direct drive" ones.
So 10kg means dry clothes right? how heavy will the wet clothes be for the tumble dryer?
Seems decent, but only a year warranty mind (don't quote me that EU law carp) and it'll take about 3 hours to do a full 10kg wash. As with most machines, the quick programmes are for a lot lower load.

Good real user review here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGgyngtrdjQ

Couple of things she didn't say; correct me if I'm wrong:

1) The quick washes use more energy, water or both
2) The display doesn't say how long it will take; it will give a worst case figure which will very likely reduce as the cycle progresses. My washing machine and dishwasher both do this; I've never been able to provoke them into running a "worst case" cycle.

Could this fit a king sized quilt in?

Quilts are in three dimensions - you've only given us two. Why not stand on the bathroom scales, then stand on them with the quilt to see what the quilt weighs. That might be a starting point.
I bought this from ao eBay shop when they had the 20 percent off and it's a great machine. Very quiet and cleans really well. The 30 minute cycle will only spin at 800 so the clothes are a bit wet and you need to do a 15 min spin at 1400 afterwards. I can live with that for the rest of the benefits.
One year warranty?

£299 from John Lewis with a 2 year warranty.
Very nice bargain washer for all those who bought for only £217 !

How many washes/cycles is this designed for? I know it's a minefield and manufacturers don't tend to publish this information.

Our modern (not the older ones with good bearings) Hotpoint is on it's last legs (well bearings to be fair) after only 5 years and 1 set of replacement bearings.

All research seemed to point towards certain Miele models as they are built to last.

Yeah let yourself get scammed and only have a year instead of holding companies to THE LAW.

at a lot of expense? after 6 months you have to prove the fault is not caused by you under "the law" which normally involves paying for a very expensive indepedent inspection/testing of the equipment followed by a report to prove the fault is with the company.

it says on zanussi product support page for this model that you get a free 2 years warranty if you register the machine online with them.

So, 570 degrees of heat for an item that is at its normal price and only cheaper because new customers might be eligible for a code to knock £20 off? The signal-to-noise ratio on this site gets worse daily.

Here we go!

My point is that it is not the same as having 2 years (or more) warranty, where, hopefully, faults are reasonably quickly sorted. The "law" is about being fit for purpose so you have to claim and offered try to prove that it wasn't, all the while having no working washing machine (given this is a 10 kg one, it would suggest there's quite a large household, for example). Whereas a warranty or guarantee is the manufacturer's (supposed) intent to fix/replace etc. in addition to the law.

You let yourself be scammed in thinking that generally having a longer warranty is not better, or at least more reassuring.
It's cheap(ish) but it's a Zanussi :(.
looks good, hot
Zanussi is owned by Electrolux so its a step up from Hotpoint, they also make AEG and John Lewis brand machines.

I went with the lg from curry's as it has 5 years warranty. One call out and it costs the same as the lg after year 2.

After 5 years if my lg breaks down and the cost to fix is over £80 I will just scrap it and put that money towards a new machine.

Machines won't last 10 years plus like before. Companies are using different materials due to regulations, engineering for a certain number of cycles etc.

That's the drum size.
Good deal - but the extra amount it will protude out means I can't fit it where my current machine sits.
that's a beast of a machine

No, it's a weight, so the question still stands. Not sure what the answer is though: it would depend on the spin speed/duration and the nature of the washing.

It takes 10kg of washing which is a volume/size to me.

Kg is a measure of mass, not size. If it was size it would be measured in litres.
