Anything but this lot, its all the same company, the parts are used across the range and they don't last, but they do catch fire and in some cases kill people. Products designed to fail just outside of warranty. The indesit Company own Ariston, Indesit, New World, Philco, Hotpoint, Creda, Cannon, GDA, English Electric,Thorn along with many more.

Any idea what brand caused the Grenfell Tower Fire

Zanussi is part of the other group which is Electrolux. I like Electrolux and Zanussi. All my washing machines are from them and many ovens. I buy them because they are cheap and reliable
Got zanussi as our oven and washing machine in rented flat - seems fine for its purpose. Never had an issue with either.
Alright for slinging in a rental I suppose
My zanussi washing machine n dryer are both still going strong after 12 years. We are a family of 6 so they have had plenty of use. I would say its a reliable brand.
thanks OP
Heads up this is a very poor quality oven. Wickes have been selling the same at £99 before. Ok for price but for those buying the indesit from Currys is better for £30 more.

I buy buy quite a few and the silver finish on the handle comes off on these.

Looks like it’s 340 quid on that link
Save your money these are utter rubbish I used in rentals and bought on price they last just over 12 months and the elements go and you can’t replace them on this model, spend and extra 50 quid on something better.

Get your facts right, especially before you start trying to corporations. …Get your facts right, especially before you start trying to corporations. As already stated, Zanussi are not part of the Indesit group and are not identified as all in your link to the brands most likely to cause fire. In fact, Zanussi score quite well in Which reports, including for reliability. I can't see that this model has been reviewed, but it is their entry level one, however, with other models all scored over 60% and two being best buys.

Did it occur to you that they might have been answering the person in the previous post who had asked for "reccomendations" for buying a fan-assisted oven, and weren't actually talking about the Zanussi?

Ah, possibly, will delete - the quoted comment then should have come first as not at all obvious what they're referring to. If this is the case, then apologies, Tabintab.

Which brands would you recommend?
good price! grabbed one
Had a Zanussi in my supposed high spec new build house, let's just say it was quite possibly the worst oven I have ever used.
The finish came of the handles, the knobs lost their finish, constantly getting dirty between the layers of glass and it seemed to operate at about 40c above what the dials suggested.
We had a whirlpool in our flat which we bought five years after being built, the writing had come off so you never knew the temperature, got the front panel replace, after a year the same thing.

Just bought a half decent Hotpoint from AO.com, time will tell I guess.

It was a 12-year old fridge-freezer that started the Grenfell fire. Is that just outside the warranty?
Sure they are whirlpool but i always get ikea ovens as they come with 5 years warranty and are decent quaity for anyone looking
It sounds a little like you expect old appliances to catch fire just because they are old! Just because something is old, it does not mean it has to fail, especially in a catastrophic manner.

We have the same problem with our Zanussi Gas Hob, within 12 months all the markings had worn away on the knobs and metal surrounds.

Was it 12 years, or up to 12 years? As model reported was built between March 2006 and July 2009. Could be a nearly 8 year old model.
