Very brave...

Tenner less than yesterday!

Should hopefully start the price wars.

Prices were always going to come down before launch. Don't know why everyone was freaking out so much.

ordered, thanks!

Exactly, it happens with every console release. Pretty sure even GAME said they didn't know what price they were putting it at and stuck it at £60 (top price) whilst they figured out the details. Still, should see most switch launch games hover around the £40 mark.

This is still terrible. Can grab any ps4/Xbox one game for £35-40 before launch.

True. But Nintendo games hold their values well.

Jesus, is this what they're all going to cost?

No - the case of zelda is fairly unique as it is coming out of two platforms and will need to be seen as more expensive on the newer platform.

Exactly this! Most new release PS4 games have the RRP of 50 odd quid - F1 2016's RRP was £59.99! It will all normalise out when companies figure out their strategies, orders etc.

HEAT, will give just about any Switch related deal heat at the moment, seeing it cheeses of the Nintendo hating, other generic mainstream console fanboys

Is only relative if your comparing like for like. Your comparing an Electric car to a Petrol car for driving. Quite a different way and experience to do the same thing.

You just put the game in and go here, and play on a good controller. No crashes, operating system hassles, or need to update GFX card drivers, and all the other things that can go on with a PC. Don't get me wrong, PC gaming is brilliant. Is just a different way to game. As for the price, Zelda is about as popular and reputable gaming brand as you can get. A premium price reflects that.

I'm on your side, was just pointing out to the previous poster that, what he considered good prices other may consider bad. The problem with this website is that everyone is so tight. Are we going to look back in 10 years and fondly remember playing a fantastic Zelda game, or the time we spend bickering over a few quid savings.

If the RRP for any Wii U game is £50, I would not pay more than £40 myself. If your patient, monitor the prices and not wanting to play games on release day, then even with the must have games like Zelda/Mario Odyessy/MK8.5/Splatoon2, it should not be difficult to obtain them for a £5 reduction in the weeks/months after release, and even a £10 or better reduction.

same price as Knack PS4 on pre-order £47 at amazon £50-55 elsewhere know which I prefer to play ( when its final gets on PS+)

don't forget Nintendo went back to the cartridge format, which is more expensive to produce compared to Dvd/Bluray.

Lots of dignity here, am a Nintendo fan/player but don't go no the other console threads saying how great Nintendo is and how pants there stuff is.

Cancelled Game Collection pre-order and picked this up, thanks OP

Assume my amazon preorder for this the other day will automatically drop.

Yes it does , just checked mine

a switch deal that's gone hot, somebody give this guy a badge heat for the current best available price, well for prime members anyway.

Who preorders? Honestly!

I love Nintendo stuff, currently have the WiiU, but early signs unfortunately are this console will be a repeat of the WiiU and may tank.

Check out some of the hands on reviews on YouTube. Zelda only runs 900p @ 30fps for example. They say the Switch should be thought more like a handheld that can just be docked rather than a proper home console.

The launch titles are my biggest concern, or lack of.

I really, really, want Nintendo to pull this out the bag though!

It's much less than the ludicrous £60 Nintendo are asking for but I still refuse to fork over £48 for a game!

hear added but I think Nintendo are being naive or stupid to release a new niche console out at 280 with games set at the RRPs when there are already 2 very good home consoles dropping in price all the time with a huge catalogue of brilliant games, and they already have a great handheld system on the market also dropping in price. And all of this after they massively screwed up the Wii U.

Now I'm no Nintendo hater, I have a Switch pre ordered, but I'm still on a knife edge as to whether I'll go through with the purchase.

If they want to seriously make a dent in the market, they need to be going with a £249.99 max console price, and £29.99 for games. They chose cartridges, not the consumer, but they are hitting the consumer with the cost as if we did.

Is it true what people are saying? that this runs worse on the switch than it does on the wii u? Please, this isn't a nintendo hating post so only genuine answers.

Yeah, there isn't a change in hell the games will sell for £50. The same speculative pricing was placed on all Xbox One & PS4 games before the systems launched - £55/60 per title. Sorry but its cold for me.

I haven't read that anywhere myself. Early reports from Nintendo's events were highly positive on how good it looked on Switch (and big screen).

Nintendo are targeting 1080p for launch date version on switch. Heard this from multiple sources technobuffalo.com/201…eo/

Imagine the performance when away from the dock and running on battery.

I've pre-ordered the WiiU version via Amazon for £40. For what I've heard is 99.9% the Switch versions equal, that's a tidy saving.

I think you will always get fanboys. As a neutral gamer, I have all consoles since the snes/ mega drive back in the day. The reason Nintendo are getting a lot of stick recently is due many people being disappointed about the switch and it's line up of games on release/ coming soon. Think the stick is warranted to be fair. Should have been much better.
Personally there would have been a great opportunity for Nintendo and Sega to join forces. Make a console. Nintendo having the unique console feel and Sega controlling a more powerful console. Let alone you have a huge library of games for virtual console and remakes/ remasters. Would be unstoppable.
Imagine a dream line up of Zelda (graphics shown in the E3 castle trailer several years ago, Mario (on release), metroid, sonic, virtual fighter, new Sega rally meets Daytona (huge racing game) and virtual cop with Nintendo mix match of controls. It would be successful and I know third party developers would make games for it. (Unlike borderlands 3 today) and games like battlefield 1 being too powerful for the console.
Oh and if I hear another..... gameplay is more important. That's rubbish. Good graphics doesn't exclude gameplay. Both together makes eye candy awesome games to play.

Amazing how almost £50 for a game these days is considered acceptable. Nintendo rubbing their hands together.

So those who preordered at £60, the should be charged £50 at time of dispatch?
