The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass grants access to two new sets of downloadable content for the game when they become available later this year. Immediately upon pre-purchase or purchase of the Expansion Pass, three new Treasure Chests will appear in the game's Great Plateau area. One of these Treasure Chests will contain a shirt with a Nintendo Switch logo which Link can wear during his adventure, exclusive to the Expansion Pass. The other two Treasure Chests will deliver useful items.

The first content pack "The Master Trials" is scheduled to launch this summer and will include the addition of a Cave of Trials challenge, a new hard mode and a new feature for the in-game map.

The second content pack "The Champions Ballad" will launch in Holiday 2017, and adds new challenges that will let players enjoy a new dungeon and a new original story.

This expansion pass is for the Nintendo Switch only.

slightly more the than £13.49 in the eshop sale at Xmas, but still well worth it. I recommend getting the DLC before you start your quest.

How come? I own the game but haven't played yet.

it's not "post-game content", it adds missions, challenges, items etc. which will make your game more enjoyable (and easier, in places).

Been waiting for this to be reduced again. Wish I’d bought it when it was on sale in the eshop.
Still need to finished the main game
Heat added, good price for sure.

For anyone that already owns this - is the “New Original Story” worth the price of entry alone?

Quality of life fixes like the bike and horse cosmetics that bring the horse to you quicker do not interest me, nor do the additional trials/dungeons/puzzles that are not linked to a story (no pun intended).

Many thanks 🙏
I thought this game was supposed to be massive? Why would it need extending even more?

In your case, I’m going to say no. For most other people I would say yes...

Thanks for the response! I’ll give this one a miss then, I was torn between this and picking up Okami as I did not get to complete it on the Wii!

I nearly bought this again! Forgot I already purchased it when it went down to £13. Admittedly have not touched BOtW yet, too many other games keeping me occupied.

It is fantastic. I’ve played it for over 80 hours I think now. Haven’t got the expansion pack. Toying with getting it.

Wow. How long have you had it. I bought it 28 November.

about 6 months after launch, after much consideration and gnashing of teeth in respect of the price. I've played Zelda pretty much none stop ever since (aside from also being P2 to s very excitable 6 year old who insisted I help him with Mario Odyssey).

I enjoyed the game, but I still don't feel the open world approach lends itself well to the previously tightly controlled narrative of Zelda games. in fact, I spent the first 200 hours or so doing absolutely nothing to do with the main quest.

it's a stunningly beautiful game. one that's genuinely hard to find fault with. but I found myself getting lonely in all the open space once the honeymoon period was over. *what* a honeymoon though!

That’s pretty good going for a honeymoon period. I know what you mean about the price. I did that too. I got it on sale plus had some gold points to take off.

I quite like galloping about and dismounting to gather mushrooms and apples. Keeps me nicely occupied.

Still have masses to do.

Ohhh trust me I am looking forward to getting round to it! Dont want any other games distracting me when I eventually do.

Currently in infatuated with Mario+Rabbids - Need to finish up the vanilla 100%, Then buy and complete the DLC, Then finish up and 100% Mario Odyssey - while playing short bursts of MK8 & Yokus island, then its Zelda time phew. Loving the switch.
Is Rabbids worth it? Was looking at getting it in the sale.

Yeah 100% one of my favourite experiences on the switch. Has Nintendo level polish despite not being a proper Nintendo game.
I purchased The Breath of the Wild digitally on the Wii U at midnight on release day in the UK.

Did the same with the DLC.

...still not played either

I have an epic digital back catalog on the Wii U, 3DS and Xbox One X, nowt gets played. Guess im making up for my childhood where I got 2 games a YEAR (Birthday and Christmas)

I am pretty much the same, although I missed out on the Wii U completely I have gone absolutely overboard with the Switch. I have over 40+ physical games, which if I had to guess over 20+ have yet to be opened and played!
