This is a great set of decals that not only cover the front of the joycons, but the rear of the Switch AND the dock giving you an all over Zelda theme! I have a set myself which was £14.99 so if you fancy Zelda'ing up your switch then I cannot recommend this enough!

Are these the same decals that Nintendo have said don't use as it completely ruins the material the console and joycons are made from??? Sorry, no thanks.

If I remember correctly the packaging has the official nintendo switch stamp, they are made from vinyl and the glue is different to normal, I cant imagine Nintendo licencing them if they were gonna cause damage?

Don't do it!

32589606-CHMJQ.jpgForgot to mention it has Zelda themed thumb grips too! Pretty sure they cant use the logo and Nintendo stamp without it being licenced, these have been available for MONTHS so if damage was being caused by these then I think they would have been removed from sale by now. It will be other companies using cheap glue.

Argh wish I could of got the grey switch over Black Friday instead of the red mario one I have now, these decals wouldn't cover the red joycons

Same price at Amazon

Sorry mate, I just wouldn't risk it on mine as much as I like the design. The risk is too great for me.

It would look quite nice if it wasn't for Link photobombing the left joycon.

Cold, these will ruin your switch.

Can confirm that the Belfast store has these for £9.99. I was in the other day to have a mooch around and they had the Zelda and Mario Kart 8 skins down to £9.99, so it's worth checking out your local store if you're nearby!

These will get even cheaper because no one wants to ruin their expensive console. The only people this will sell to are those who don't know the damage they can do or who already have damaged their controllers and want them covered up.

I am glad to say that you are all misinformed. It was a very well known vinyl company called dbrand that tried to create skins for the switch but their methods resulted in the damage to the joy cons as pictured. Other brands, including the officially licensed ones plus, DecalGirl, Skinit etc., use different adhesive and these are known to not damage the switch. I have a skinit set on mine, which I have changed once, that has not caused any damage.

Shame price on Amazon if that's any easier.

I don't get it! People are worried about the damage that stickers designed to cover something will do. Surely the whole point is that you won't see any potential damage as it'll be covered?!

Unless you plan to keep removing them and replacing them, well then you're just asking for trouble as you would with anything sticky!

The other option is that you had no intention of using any kind of sticker on your Switch and therefore, I have to wonder why you're in a thread about stickers for a Switch

Thanks OP for posting and thanks to the person that posted the Amazon link, ordered from there

The decals that were reported to damage the material were the 3M ones from places like dbrand.
These are licensed by Nintendo.

Saying that. I’ve seen this on a friend’s switch. It’s kinda cool. But a bit gimmicky. I personally don’t love it, but he does. So if you want something a bit different and love zelda then go for it.
