➤ ABOUT THE ZENMATE EXTENSION:

The ZenMate extension is a free VPN -like service that lets you access sites that are blocked or censored by your government or corporation! It also fully encrypts (!) your browser traffic and builds a secure tunnel around the data you send via your browser. This is unique to us and separates us from other extensions like Hide My Ass, Stealthy or the Hola Unblocker, which are just regular proxy extensions that work without encryption. The encryption feature gives you instant protection from spies, hackers, spying ISP's or Governments. Your IP is masked, your Internet unrestricted and your privacy always protected. In the light of recent events such as the NSA / PRISM scandal and increased hacking attempts Internet privacy and protection has never been more important! Furthermore, ZenMate also lets you access your favorite sites even when you are traveling abroad.

➥ Way more than an ordinary web proxy:
ZenMate for Google Chrome™ not only removes location restrictions by tunneling your traffic through the ZenMate Cloud but also fully encrypts all traffic with tested industrial strength encryption standards. ZenMate is the ONLY browser extension available that ENCRYPTS your web activity! Furthermore you can manage and switch between multiple servers quickly & easily within the extension. This helps you to get past the restrictions of your government or organization if facebook, Youtube, Gmail, Google Docs or others are blocked. With ZenMate you will get access to the entire internet. No restrictions. No limitations.

➥ The extra layer of security:
ZenMate fully encrypts normal "http://" sites and even adds an extra layer of security by tunneling "https://" (SSL) encrypted sites as well for end-to-end secure browsing. This additionally secures especially sensitive information as used with online banking for example.

➥ Made for everyone:
Security is no longer a privilege only available to computer experts. ZenGuard is super easy to use and integrates seamlessly into your Chrome browser. No clumsy desktop application or difficult set-up process needed. In times likes these, where online privacy- & security is of utmost importance and a mass problem, we set out to develop a mass solution. ZenMate is so easy to understand that it can be used by everyone.

➥ Lightweight integration – heavy protection:
ZenGuard is not as deeply integrated into your system as a desktop application and therefore doesn't mess up your network settings. However, it offers the same protection to your browser traffic as a regular, full fledged desktop VPN by using the latest technology available!

Does it work for Hulu?

Yes

Thanks works for me with Chrome.

I'll give this a try.

Cool service, didn't know about it until right now. Just tried it with a few sites and it seems to work great!

Should be handy for using UK services when I'm next overseas. Have some heat

doesn't work with hulu for me

Not working with Hulu for me either

UPDATE: Discovered what I was doing wrong. You have to activate it by clicking on the shield in Chrome ltop toolbar and giving email address. Then you have to choose your location setting. Hulu OK now. HTH.

Left click green shield on Chrome top toolbar and then bottom left of box is "change location"

Thanks (_;)

ZenMate

It's free and always will be.

They have multiple servers at 5 different locations and it will "always be free"? I imagine they'll re-think their stance on that if/when people actually start using the service.

Thanks for the link though, hot (for now :p).

Very impressed. Watched Hulu and live US tv quickly and easily.

Excellent, works great.

The part about "it's free and always will be" does conflict a little with where it says "you have unlimited free data during our launch phase."

Does this prevent your IP address being traced?

Scratch that just seen it

Can I use this to get American Netflix?
If so, please tell me how!
Hot for Hulu, even hotter for Netflix

Does not seem to work for American Netflix, getting "server error" message. Hotspot Shield will do the trick though and it's free.

Will this work with a tablet for iPlayer etc when on holiday?

Just a note: been using this all day, and noticed a few websites running really slow, done a webpage speed test, and was loading at a mere 93kb, under 1Mb, (im on 100mb virgin), after turning Zen off, i was back at max speed on pageloadings again..ill only be turning it on when i need it, and off in the meantime.

But this is going to circumvent the government's new anti-porn measures.
Shouldn't be allowed!

same for me.
Nothing really fancy about it. I guess once its gonna be popular connection speed will go down and they will start introducing charges for using it. Not voting hot/cold but worth to watch this space.

I agree, handy to have up there i guess to turn on whenever it may be needed.

As for the porn law, all you need to do is phone or go on your ISP's website, and turn off the porn filter once its been introduced..

Sounds too good to be true and free aswell..hmm
And it needs all these??

Thanks!

Is this any better / worse than Hola Unblocker?

Doesn't work, switch location to US and try to load netflix server can't be found.

Is Hulu a free service?

Nice.

One of the hottest deals ever IMO.

I live in the Middle East currently and loads of websites are blocked. I do use Hotspot Shield but it drops my 10mb internet down to less than 1mb.

This drops me down to 5mb, considerably faster and I haven't noticed any annoying ads yet, and it seems to do what it's supposed to.

Thank you OP for highlighting this to us/me!

A netbook is not a tablet in case you weren't aware

Anyone know if this will allow watching sky go whilst abroad?

Will this let you get around sites that have been blocked by Virgin Media?
