I bought this as my first wireless router, so that I could surf the net with my Wii. Good piece of kit and easy to set-up - but remember you'll need an ethernet port on your PC.

At that price can't be bad. Voted hot.

Good price, but watch out for compatibility problems. It does not work at full speed with BE/O2 ADSL2+ broadband (I know after spending time on the phone with their helpdesk!)

I also have this worked fine when I was on Orange Broadband but when I changed to plunet the connections speed is erratic sometimes only 18mbps and nobody knows why

Thanks, ours got fried in a lighning storm last night! cheap replacement.

I'm pretty sure you need a matching Zoom adapter to achieve 125 Mbps.

Correct me if i'm wrong..

No thats right or you need another manufacturers adapter that uses the same chipset

that's right. It's Chipset dependant. So if you use another manufacturer's adapter with a different chipset, then the top speed you will achieve is only 54Mbps i.e. the normal 802.11 g standard.

And as far as I know if you have any other devices on your network then the speed will be limited to the lowest common denominator of those other devices, i.e. 54Mbits/sec if any of them are missing the magic chipset.

I have had this for two weeks now with no real issues. Had it running 24/7 and had to reboot it once so far. For some reason my laptop was unable to connect due to limited access?? Worked fine after rebooting modem.

Just thought I'd add this as it's related. I just picked up one of these: pcplus.co.uk/rev…125 from Curry's on Old Broad Street, London (near Liverpool street) for £9.97!

It was marked up that price on the shelf, so it *may* be national? Can't find it on any DSG website.

thanks for that, will take a look in passing tomorrow.

Ermm for those who have virgin broadband, simply call and moan about leaving because other service providers provide FREE router and you should get may be Netgear ASDL or standard router! I did and its great! And those who are with other services just moan about why new customers or those renewing contracts should get it and not you to get your new FREE router! Try it & let me know how it goes! :-D
But voted hot as it isn't bad price for this type.
