Yeah for the price its decent and the CPU will suffice for most tasks

The only problem with it is the fact that it is a Zoostorm and they tend to be faulty.

What's wrong with a Zoostorm? I know loads of people who build a custom PC and spend over £600. What's the fault with these computer?

Okay for modern gaming?

RebTheRebel

Okay for modern gaming?

No, unless you're referring to flash games. However, for the price it's a steal and not meant for gaming.

You could write a list about what it cant or won't be able to do, but at this money it's cheaper than most tablets, faster, will last longer and won't get a cracked screen. Great deal. Nothing wrong with zoostorm BTW, been around forever.

tinca

the processor is a bit Huhmmmmmm

Hardly. It may be towards the bottom of the range for desktop processors but it's similar power to a laptop i5 like a 5200U. There's plenty of power there.

I'd have said the main downside is that the monitor isn't 1600x900 as you'd expect at 19" but only 1366x768 so not ideal if your desk doesn't have much depth to it.

CPU bench 3466 - which is perfectly good for everyday tasks, watching iPlayer etc

spec reasonable

not for me but with the monitor worth maybe £60, you're getting a fairly cheap refurb PC

It can handle light gaming and maybe a few modern titles but have to change the resolution and a few of the game settings to make it work proper and perhaps get 60fps.

For a basic home PC this is a bargain.

£200 for a full home computer setup is a great deal but I feel like nowadays most people don't have the patience, time or desire to sit at a desk and "compute" so will want a laptop. Those who do have the desire will most likely already have dual screens and keyboard so would be better off with a PC only deal.

you're joking!

I'm sure I'm not alone

I've got a very neat laptop - got it for my kids to use Rosetta Stone on [as you only get 2 shots to download the program] - but I much prefer my desktop. Much more usable, ie big 27" screen and full size keyboard - let's not start talking about having a mouse! Miles better than a touchpad.

I agree that the 18.5" monitor is redundant unless by chance you are starting from scratch/ buying for Mum & Dad/ intending to flog it.

I have a Zoostorm for 5 years now and is not and has not been faulty

Tis a good deal, if anyone wants an i5 small form desktop there's a £200 i5 Zoostorm desktop on Zoostorm outlet on ebay LINK but no monitor included. HUKD won't allow this deal to be posted as the seller has less than 1000 feedback.

Use them at work for development pcs. Absolutely no issues

could you easily stick a good graphics card in this later on to play new games ??

I'm shocked it even runs without a GPU, but it is on a much lower fps than you suggested and doesn't look great but is very playable

can we get a gtx 750ti in it? i have that in my i5 small form factor pc and it rocks. then this is a pretty good set up!

but you're being very silly

CPU bench 3466 means this is actually a perfectly fast computer - faster than most computers out there

sure - if you want to pay silly money - you can get faster

my PC right now runs at CPU bench 6000 - not doing a cockerel thrust here as I know that's peanuts vs the best out there

but most people have a tootling along sort of PC or laptop & this one beats them hollow

Exactly, I've not had any issues with my zoostorm PC that I bought after seeing A post on this site 2 years ago. Upgraded it with an R9 290 a year ago and it runs the SteamVR beautifully!

The CPU is gank. Just dual core without hyperthreading, means if you pair it with a decent video card. The game may not run or will run at a substantially reduced rate. quad core with HT is usually a nice sweet spot.
Using cpubench isn't an accurate summary for how fast a cpu is
it has a nice upgrade path for the cpu though, a nice i5 or meatier i7 when funds allow. Not sure of any overclocking ability though.

They also have the same one without the monitor for £135 but the case looks different (cos it is)X)

I own a desktop, laptop and mobile phone.
For me, the desktop wins hands down. For browsing and work, the phone and laptop don't even come close.
Laptops are compromised when it comes to outright power. And phones/tablets, more so.
When I use a laptop for the same task as on my desktop, it feels like I am working with 1 arm tied behind my back.

The disadvantage of a desktop though, is the lack of portability, but if you don't mind being stuck to a desk/chair, then nothing comes remotely close to the usability of a desktop.

Unlikely. the power supply in this pc is probably a cheap unit and when putting a gpu in it probably won't handle it unless you put something like a gtx 750 in that draws power off the pcie slot. However even if you do this you have to consider if the motherboard even has a pcie slot and then what is the quality of that motherboard too.

In all honesty this pc is only good enough for maybe playing the odd old steam game and Internet browsing.

Depends what kind of laptop you have, mine would be a lot faster than this desktop but it was a lot more expensive too!
