Good value machines, but always let you down on the detail - 0 x USB 3.0?

They undermine the whole machine to save a few bob!

But still HOT for those that suit - but check the spec carefully!

One or the other - you cannot have both.
Edited by: "Quadrille" 24th Oct 2013

For your trade in device to qualify for the full amount, it must be a working desktop, laptop, notebook, netbook PC, include the main battery and power supply, must not be permanently marked or defaced, it must be complete and undamaged (reasonable wear & tear accepted) and be less than 5 years old.

If any of the items required are missing from the package received by Recycler or if the traded in device does not otherwise qualify for the Promotion, you may receive a revised valuation as determined by Recycler by email. If the lesser value of the reward is not acceptable to you, you may request return of your traded in device. If Recycler does not receive a reply within ten (10) calendar days after the date of the email, the value of the reward will be deemed accepted by you.

Misleading deal voted cold on that base

This wouldn't really be much of a deal without the trade in. For those who haven't purchased Zoostorm before be warned that the build quality is not the best

Yeah, forgot to add "Or" inbetween.

Very easy to correct for £10 or less. Just put in a PCI-e USB 3 card.

How does trade in work ? I have dual core PC which is broken already. Could I use it for trade in to get £100 off for this new PC ?

Sure, but not everyone wants to buy a new computer then start rejigging it - I gacve one example, if I dug around, there'd be 2 or 3 more.

It's just a shame they don't 'future proof' these machines at all.
You might get away with that RAM now ... will you in a couple of years?

Trade-In deal how it works.

They won't accept broken PC's. Working PC's only.

Trade-In deal Terms and Conditions. See section 6&7.

Yep, I'd rather get one from the Dell Outlet store.

Sorry, call me an idiot (many do) but I just can't see how this "£319 after cashback" adds up. The page for this desktop says "£419.00inc. vat - £319.00 after cashback" and then further down the same page "Claim £30 Cash Back from Zoostorm when you buy this Desktop PC ". So which is it - £100 cashback, or £30 cashback? If the £100 off is only for trade-ins and not for cashback, why are they saying £319 after cashback?!

That is HOT! You should post that.

I would consider purchasing that, but it only has 2x USB 3.0 slots, I wish it had more though.

At first I thought this was a good deal. When I realised you have to trade in a perfectly working and unmarked computer, that is less than 5 years old, to get the £100 off that is not so great. Less than 5 years old is likely to be a dual core at least and they have a residual value greater than £70 anyway so they certainly are losing money by "recycling" your old computer.

The Haswell 4570 in the post just above is far better value for money and almost worth the full price.

Is the Haswell PC in the trade-in offer. I cannot see it?

You can only participate in one of those two cashback promotions. If you don't have anything to trade in, then you will get £30 cashback (Ivy Bridge models ONLY), however if you do have a PC/Laptop etc to trade in, then you will get the £100 cashback. It's one cashback offer or the other, but not both.

No, it's the Ivy Bridge models only. You could e-mail them to ask them to add the Haswell models to the promotion though, the worst they can say is no; they may not have updated the list yet.

E-mail: help@zoostormpromotions.com

Hope this helps,

How do they judge the age of it? A machine bought 5 years ago could have been built using components that were 3/4 years old at the time.

Ok so like, phones, tablets, any technology really? Buy for now and be happy!

That's not "cashback" then, is it? It's "trade-in". In essence, the statement "£319 after cashback" is an out and out lie. Not that I'm suggesting that's your fault, of course - you're just reprinting from their site, but it's still a lie

I suspect you're deliberately misunderstanding, but I'll bite.

NOT like phones. When you buy a desktop, you DON'T expect the minimum functions; you expect expansion room; enough memory, enough USB's for some development.

Sure, technology throws a few flankers - but you don't want one you KNOW that will be obsolete in a few months.

Even with phones, these days you'd probably look for one that will upgraded when the OS is, surely?

To all the people bitching about no usb 3.0.all you have to do is buy a 4 usb 3.0 card for all of £11 and plug it in.is it reallg that hard

Also I have a zoistorm as a pc and its on 24/7 and works a dream so nothing wronv with build quality.

Power supply 250W - so the first time you add anything to the system you will need to replace the PSU. Great!

How does the i5 model in this deal compare with this similarly priced AMD (with same trade in offer)? ebuyer.com/579…524 Its a long long time since I last bought a PC personally and had my head in the AMD vs Intel war.
