Super hot heat and lots of it coming your way

Voted hot. Good price, though couple of cheaper ones (standard clock though) have been posted in the past, which have now expired.

anybody got promotional code from novatech?

Is this card a single slot. I already have a card in one of my two slots & was wondering does the Zotac take a single slot (so that I can get away with both together), or will I need to pull my current card to fit it in.

Thanks..

Here's me just got the XFX Alpha Dog from Aria at the £105 price... Ahh well - overclock! :-P

The 8800GT's should be single slot's

Looks good, just grabbed one

Great Price. Voted hot!!

Nice

I see there is a Novatech 8800 GTS with same SP and MBs but not as fast Mhz speeds. I thought GTS was meant to be better??

Damn you ..and there was me hoping for cheap month

Great price!

Damn, if I didn't buy my POV 8800GT from ebuyer a couple of weeks ago I would have definitely got this one. This costs about the same but is factory overclocked. Voted hot

So can anyone tell how good it is for HD Content playback?

Thanks,

Sam

Guys, just so you know, the new GTX 260 and 280 should be coming out in mid-june. This should mean a decent price drop in the current 8800 line (the 280s will blow an 8800 out the water in performance).

While this is a very decent price for the card (voted hot), this maybe something you might want to think about before purchasing. As a month down the line the price will probably a fair bit lower.

There are ALWAYS new cards coming out, if you listened to that then you'll never ever buy one.

The GTS is better, but this card is the ultimate 8800GT released before the GTS was released.

Its different when we are two weeks away.

COLD.

True but both ATI and nvidia have brand new cards coming out which are quite a step up so it may be worth the wait.

This card will handle HD Content infact most recent motherboards with onboard graphics and a good processor can handle HD Content just fine.

This card is single slot, I've had it a while now. its a good card, but it does get hot! It's crashed a few times on me now after playing a game for a while and my computer is well cooled. Plays Crysis pretty well on high settings 1650x1050. only slows down on a few massive maps.

This card is also pretty quiet. practically silent compared to my old 1950pro.

I'd personally go for a 512mb gts over this as they are slighty faster and shouldnt have the overheating isues, although it may just be the case that i've got a bad card.

Brilliant value, heat and rep added. Been looking to buy one of these for 2 months now, glad I waited. Taken the plunge, I know they will drop in a few months but so does everything in IT land.

Get an aftermarket cooler. Thermalwright do a really good one. I overclocked my 8800 to the same sppeds as the AMP ed, and its at least 20 degrees cooler than the stock cooler.

If you run most 8800GT's at 2000 MHz memory they WILL burn out - nVidia tried and after a few weeks the RINGBUS burnt out on them.

These cards seem to use better RAM (or a better RINGBUS), and so don't...

How does this compare to a 8800 gtx? I am trying to get a good computer built for my gaming mad son. As I only really use office programs I know nothing about this, advice please - Thanks

So this is better than the XFX Alpha Dog 9600GT which has core speed of 740Mhz?:?

The GTX is about 5 fps faster than this card on most games so the extra expense is not really worth it, as has been said above if you want power wait a few weeks the ati 4850 will be more powerful than the GTX and much cheaper

From most the benchmarks the 8800GT is the better performer

RINGBUS is ATI technology, nothing to do with NVidia

I've never heard of any 8800GTs burning out at 2000mhz.

I shouldn't have to buy an aftermarket cooler. it should work as it is!

I've bought another 120mm case fan for my p182 case, which has helped but it's hardly the point. As i've already said maybe i've just been unlucky.

this Zotac amp card already has a better fan that the stock one anyway. It should run fine at the pre- overclocked speeds anyway because of the better fan and its fitted with better and faster memory that the reference card

Lots of the single slot 8800GT's have heat issues. If I was buying again, I would get one with a better cooler than the one I bought, probably one with the zalman style cooler. Saying that With the thermalwright cooler, it only peaks about 65 degrees, even when i have been stressing it. Was hitting 95+ with stock cooler...

You'll get less than that again if you go with a "Zalman Heatpipe CPU cooler with quiet 110mm blue LED fan". A mate runs one & his system doesn't go above 50!

Does this come with a s/w that will play hd dvd's?

No. you will need to get this seporatly. Also, look at the nVidia site for their 'Pruevideo' decoder.

I know this isnt really the place but ou lot seem to know what your tlking about..

I have a PC that was running to Graphic Cards (7800GT) in SLI, my motherboard was over clocked using the ASUS Booster which comes with the motherboard, so I assume this wasnt really affecting the Cards themselves.

The problem is now only one card seems to be giving any output and when I play COD4 after 2 mins I get blue lines accross the screen and it freezes. I want to know is this Deffinatly a Graphics fault or because Im running Vista and gaming on 1GB Ram (I damagaged the other stick)

I need to know whether to buy RAM or a new GPU

Voted HOT btw.

yep deals only, check out the forums for similar problems. you need to check if its only that game the problem occurs, do you have similar problems in windows. Try running memtest x86 (google it), make sure you have the latest patches installed. Try the game with just 1 card and then swap them to see if either is faulty. loads of different things to try, but this isnt the place

Run a RAM test such as MEMtest if you want to be sure the RAM is fine:

memtest86.com/dow…tml

The bootable ISO version can be burned in Nero or imgburn (free app for burning image files). Set your computer to boot from CD and let the app run. I generally leave it looping for most of a day to be certain that the RAM is OK.

Start buy bying new ram. Cheep as chips atm Check the cards individually, to see if 1 is faulty. If neither your ram or cards are the issue, it may be your SLI connector or your PSU could be struggling...

WOW, superhot price!! I brought one of these about 2 - 3 months ago when they we're £169.99!! It's a great card, super quiet too

I brought one as it got reviewed to be almost as good as a 8800GTX on the web somewhere, I just typed "Zotac 8800GT amp edition" on google you'll find plenty of good reports etc
