GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme edition- the most high end zotac model for £575 which looks like an utter bargain (for a gtx 1080!) considering the overclockers UK are selling for £655

Though there is no clear mention of amp! extreme on the amazon page the pictures are for the card and model number listed corresponds with the amp! extreme model on Zotac's website.

Just double checked the website for zotac, the amp! extreme (3 fan, higher clock) card has ZT-P10800B-10P product code the less expensive amp is ZT-P10800C-10P. The card on the above amazon page is for the amp! extreme for sure

out of stock

yup. an absolute bargain. 575 quid.

"(for a gtx 1080!)"

Whilst I still think this kind of money on a graphics card is entering the realms of insanity, if you absolutely must, this is about the cheapest it's been...

Just ordered 2x RX480's....Around the same or higher power than 1x GTX 1080 at nearly £300 cheaper.

SLI / Crossfire support is abysmal and DX12 games require the developer to code multi GPU support. Frame pacing issues and also lack of support at launch of a game.

A single GPU is ALWAYS better than two for games.

The RX 480 is undoubtedly great value. Running itx I need a single card solution and some people don't want to have to deal with poor crossfire performance and developer implementation

where did you get your rx480s and how much. looking for a deal on these myself. Nearly 300 cheaper? So you landed them at £150 each? I definitely need the link on this please. I nearly pre ordered at £220 for the 8gb

Most likely these:

ebuyer.com/751…fa6

Be prepared to wait a long time for this. I ordered a 1080 SC from amazon on the 2nd June and they have estimated 7th August for dispatch.

Also the 2 mid range cards over 1 high end card is nothing new. Same stuff every release but I'd rather eat my foot than use two GPUs.

Two 480s are not faster than a single GTX 1080. They are not even faster than a single 1070 in a lot of situations, You can read further @ arstechnica.co.uk/gad…es/
It was an equivalent of a click bait when they said it on stage, if you look closer all they really ment is that in this one scenario, using these particular settings, in this one game two 480s 8GB and overclocked can perform better than a single 1080. Single game.

If you have a lower budget it's much better to get the Zotac GTX 1070 Amp Extreme 8GB card @ £389 and OC it rather than 2x RX 480 4GB reference cards for £348 and end up with crossfire headaches.

Cool. Thank you. So in reality he meant he saved a little over 200 not anywhere near 300 X)
I'm looking for the 8gb 480 so will have to keep hunting. That's a great price for a 4gb though.

voted cold because its OOS and by time you might even get it, you will probably have been ok adding the extra to get a few months earlier

Not voted but honestly can't think why anyone would want one of these for the price. Too powerful for 1440p gaming and 4k is quite frankly pointless. Not worth £600 on a price per frame graph.

Ultra settings at 1440p on a 120/144/165Hz monitor needs really quick pixel processing. There's rarely ever a single GPU setup even at launch that isn't needed for this sort of combo.

They human eye and brain can only process to distinction a maximum of around ~115 fps so beyond that (120hz) every frame drawn is a frame wasted (some say it's 150fps but when I went to uni they said 115). I get the more frames the higher the average but honestly, anyone that needs that high a Base for gaming is probably doing competitions and if they are they shouldn't be playing with eye candy on; far easier to hit a high Base clock and make distinction in objects by turning off the fx and playing with essentially block and colour seperation. Any old 7950 or 780ti can do this.

It says at the bottom of the page:-

1 x Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Graphics Card
Driver CD
User Manual
Dual 6-Pin to 4x2-Pin Power Cable

It does not say 1 x Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Extreme Graphics Card

Amazon have mixed up the descriptions, part numbers, pictures and prices on the Zotac 1080 & 1070. I have ordered what I think is a 1070 Extreme but I'm not convinced I will get the extreme version. I will return it if it is the wrong version.

Its a good price if true, but the real trick with these is actually finding them in stock rather than a vague promise to supply at some point. Some are still waiting for amazon to supply those G1 gaming cards they sold for £559 now over a month ago.

You got 2 480's for £275? Sure you did pal.

This is an excellent price for one of the fastest GTX 1080s.

It's £655 on Overclockers UK!

The Amazon page states ZT-P10800B-10P as the model, which is the AMP Extreme.

I'll be annoyed if I don't get the AMP Extreme.

Regarding delivery, Amazon just told me:

"I am unsure of a date to advise really, however I do see that we have a high enough demand for the item, therefore it should be back in stock soon.

I would rather not provide any false information, and as I cannot determine a date for the item to be available, I can only estimate that it should be back in stock by the middle of July.

Just to advise, it very well may be possible that this item may not be back in stock until the beginning of August.

I say this as I am not sure what date we ran out of stock.

If you feel by the middle of July that the order is taking too long, you do have every right to cancel it, and you can do so yourself or by contacting Amazon.

Just spoke to a pretty useless amazon adviser trying to confirm this is the amp extreme for sure. He didnt know there was even more than one model of zotac card despite me sending in the difference model numbers and descriptions to him gah. Will try the phone line later today. Amazon did say 1-2 weeks till they had it in stock to me.

No where on the internet is making this claim anymore.

Dual 480 are trading blows with the 1070.

And that's ignoring the plethora of games that are not supported yet.

Yep the "outperforms a GTX 1080" claim was on ashes of singularity only, a heavily AMD favored game

I'm aware of the model numbers but it's the description which makes me doubt. On the ZT-P10800B-10P (AMP Extreme) it says that the box containts normal AMP and it's weight is lower than the ZT-P10800C-10P (normal AMP) which I think is incorrect as the Extreme should be heavier. I'm so confused now

Not this again! Every time a monitor comes out with a higher refresh rate, someone picks an arbitrary number that humans apparently cannot see beyond. If you've not yet tried high framerate gaming.. give it a try! You'd be amazed the difference you can easily perceive from 60 to 100, and from 100 to 144.

Ignoring the weights, the product dimensions on the extreme link clearly show a card thats longer, wider, and thicker :O

Not really. It trades blows with the range of cards from the GTX 970 - GTX 1080 and faster on some tests but it doesn't always take advantage from games yet. For me, RX 480 is way cheaper than the GTX 970 that it beats for a single card otherwise, if the 1070 was £220 as expected instead of over £350 (UK rip off) I'd go with that.

Got my 1080 the other day and I really love it. Every game now ultra settings by default. Battlefront and Doom look particularly great.
