no rtx.... no deal
Interesting... The second 1660 Super cut price today and it's a different brand to the Palit one. I wonder if these are now official price cuts because of the 5600/XT launch on Tueday. Fingers crossed!

afew other places have too but offer cak delv.. one to watch!
This will get hot just because it's a graphics card and everyone on this forum just loves anything PC!!! But it's actually ok, AMD GPUs actually kick bums!!!
Well im an AMD/Ryzen fan.. think ive proven that by now on here?.... how many builds point that way?..... however their isnt a brand new AMD card for less then £210 which beats this.... never will be for a while.

Not to mention there are still some driver issues at the moment with AMD's new cards...
If you are in the market for a card in this sort of price range I'd just wait to see what the new AMD 5600 and 5600 XT cards do to the competition first. You've only got a few days to wait now as the NDA lifts on the 21st. Nvidia has already dropped the price of the RTX 2060 which is unusual! So I suspect they may well be decent performers, especially with the recent firmware tweaks: techradar.com/uk/…cut

2060 price cut basically made these a pointless purchase, they are just a non entity undercut by their own manufacturer. These should just be ignored and a 2060 or 5600XT bought instead.
How much is this 2060 we talk about?....

If you search on here you will have seen posts for the 2060 around the £250 to £270 mark this month.

With the 5600XT AMD were aiming at the 1660 segment.

Nvidia announced a drop in £40 over the last few days on the 2060 to steer off the 5600xt - take 40 off that £250 to £270 places it where precisely (announced does not yet mean in retail adjusted yet).

AMD for their part have upped the TDP recommendation (OC'ing) and memory bandwidth on teh 5600xt (all prior to release) - so all signs are there is going to be a battle here.

Whilst you are an AMD fan (as stated above) I am a fan of competition - as when afoot it is us, the consumer, that gains and of course brings up the question of what will 1660's be selling for in a months time (the couple posted here around the £170 mark I do not think were mistakes but just sooner than planned)
firstly i am a fan of competition.... "remember ive posted a Super"... and ive posted many intel builds.. unlike alot of amd fans will just stick with their own products..

reason i asked the price... (which i knew.. is to find what they knew).......

5600xt main aim were to target the 1660 TI and nail it.. now its got a good battle on the 2060 due to the price gap...
- however.... just remember what everyones being purchasing? for 250/270on here? 5700......

2060 vs 5600xt vs 5700
- and we know the old timer posts about the 5700 over the 2060....... so amd have got an internal challenge on its own product from its own range.

i do expect the 1660 supers will drop.... however today this is an excellent deal, until an ebuyer code comes from ebay subject to them not over inflating to much and we see a nice 7% discount on the typical webprice will be the first next wave.

meanwhile the normal 1660 will go down in line to that of the rX590...... which will turn out to be nice £150 card war and the 1660 will win, the strength of the RX590 were its price so until that comes in to play again...

the supers will cover the upper 170-200 range while the TI will cover just over 200/30...

and the battle as stated will be right back 5600xt vs 2060..... @ 250..... which u might as well spend that little extra n getting a 5700.... untill we exactly know what the 5600xt can do..

Any recommendations on a 1080p/1440p card for max settings and frame rates up to 120?
These guys put my £400 components into a bag and shipped them like that, opened the motherboard box to put the thermal paste and RAM in then put brown tape to seal the box. I returned the motherboard, other parts are okay though.

Sorry for the late reply, I bought a CPU, Motherboard, Thermal Paste and 2x8GB Corsair RAM.
I'm mainly interested in the upgraded NVENC encoder chip on-board (compared to my 1060 6gb mini which isn't as efficient). Would a 1660 super be better bang-for-buck, overall, when compared to the new prices of the 2020 (that also have the latest NVENC encoder chip)?
