It would appear that the advent of the new Geforce 900 series graphics cards has encouraged some better pricing on the older model cards which are still by today's standards very impressive bits of kit.

The Zotac GTX 780 OC is currently over £360 at Ebuyer and there's no mention of the free borderlands game.

**To get the card for this price you'll need free delivery option which you'll either have already received from being an AV Forum member (which may still be an option for new applicants) or from signing up to Scan's lifetime free delivery at their Gadget Show stand. Otherwise it's another £11.49 carriage taking it to £235.70 - still a bargain.

To bring their naming scheme in line with their laptop gpus. They released the 800M series for laptops in early 2014 and rumour has it they are ready to release the 900M this October.
Extremely hot!

Which one is better: this one or the one from overclockers?
Chaps, I have updated the description as I got the carriage cost down wrong. I accidentally quoted the ex VAT cost.

Has to be said Scan are asking a fair whack for delivery of just one video card. A £300 SSD costs £4.50 to deliver; this card must way as much as a Tesco Senior Exec's conscience
hereafter

Which one is better: this one or the one from overclockers?

I'd say this one as this is an overclocked version and the other looks like stock speeds to me.

Not to mention your free borderlands game
I have this card its amazing! Considering a second to SLI, but think I would be better selling the card I have and buying two 970's! lower power etc.. and actually abit faster I suspect plus DX12 support etc..
I just got an R9 280x for £195. Maybe I should have got this or a 970 instead
arsenalfan, yeah so annoying when you just buy a car that now looks super expensive..

I felt abit burnt when I bought the ZOTAC About a month before the 780Ti came out.. Its not far from a 780Ti

Are you outside your return window? The 970 is ridiculous for the money.

Arguably so yes, if you could have stretched another £30 odd. You've still a solid card there though

Mine should be with me on Wednesday, btw these were £287 on Sunday.

I'll be 780SLI on Wednesday and just in time for winter (heat generated i mean)- saves on the central heating
Nice find! I actually think the ZOTAC GTX780Ti OC 3GB is a better deal, at £326.88 it has near GTX 980 performance for £100 less than the new card, plus free games. The only sacrifice is power efficiency.

AMD has Never Settle Forever with 3 free games that's what made me go with them over Nvidia
Bah watch out for the postage as previously stated. Scan are doing the same card on ebay for £4.98 delivered

ebay.co.uk/itm…d62

That makes it £229.14 and £460 to SLI a pair of these badboys if you have the dough.

Mhh depends on what resolution you play at and type of game.

R280x was meant to compete with 770gtx. If you have the money then 780 here is better but 280x for themoney is good value

Sit on it. AMD have a big announcement this Thursday and given the recent Nvidia releases, there's a very good chance it's the new 'Pirate Islands' 300 series GPUs.

Fights will be fought, villages will be pillaged, prices will be slashed.

YAARRRR!!!

The hashing power of ASICS (that is custom-built chips) have long since made mining Bitcoins on a GPU obsolete. The only thing it's good for now is heating up your room.:)

To think this was a £500 card just 1 year ago. This is a great price.

It is actually a good price but it's impressive how people were dumb enough to pay 500 for it to be honest. They basically let Nvidia slap them around and tell them how much to pay whether there was alternatives or not. 500 was a stupid price and anybody that bought it for that price might will either be tugging there hair out or if they have too much money to waste just letting the corporations laugh at them regardless of if they care. This is a nice price though and I am considering getting one at this price but I hope Nvidia keeps up this pricing strategy and people don't seriously roll around thinking it's great just because how much Nvidia marked them up previously.

They have 1gb more vram but smaller bus, id take vram and the 970 over a 780 anyday.

The 780s prices are dropping everywhere and worth less each day, 970 will hold its value a while yet.

They dont crush them, but are a far better investment at this date, the 970 does beat a 780 but you wont really tell the difference when playing games.

Still its cooler and better on the PSU, anyone who picks a 780 over a 970 is an idiot tbh.

Depends on whether or not you're concerned about bang for the buck or resale value I guess. Personally I buy a card for the former.

..and here I was taking you seriously

Nice attitude pal
I agree that the 970 is a better option for a single card, but if you want to sli these, they have a great amount of value, and the performance for around the price of 1 980 is staggering.

Hows it nice attitude? Ofc youre an idiot if you buy a 780 over a 970, theres no attitude about it, its a fact!

Unless you get the 780 for like 100 quid cheaper its a no go, its as simple as that.

So yeah wake up and smell the coffee, "pal"

Obv a bitter 780 owner i suppose.......

970 is by far better for sli too, more vram, cooler running, better overclocking..... the list goes on, 970 overall a much better card than the 780 as the prices stand.

2 970s will run nice and cool is most cases and even smaller cases, with 780s you have no chance, and have to sacrifice going reference to avoid overheating which equals more noise.

2 gigabyte 970s will be fine even dumping most the heat into the case, as they generate way less heat.
