I appreciate its £100 more, but is it £100 more performance? Genuine question for anyone in the know!

By no objective measure (FPS/£, for example) will that be "worth" £80 more than the Zotac.

There was a 1080 on here the other day for £440, so £430 for a 1070 is pretty poor value.

No, all OEMs will be given the same type of GPU chips. All that might differ is their card designs and coolers. You will not get any extra performance for that £80-100, unless it's a different GPU chip like a 1080 inside.

Definitely not black friday worthy, it was the same price over a month ago.

Generic rule, any 1070 above £350 is too expensive. Below £340 is a good deal.

OEM's/AIO's may bin chips to guarrante higher factory overclocks, but definitely not worth that much extra.

Correct, they may do. If I remember right some manufacturers might have 2 Tiers, with the Tier 1 cards being those Super OC cards with massive amounts of cooling and more VRM modules for users to OC with or do custom cooling to push them to the max.

But unless reviews (multiple, never trust one as it may be a hand picked sample sent to the reviewer) have shown the upper tier cards to be significantly faster and therefore worth it for the price increase, then most likely it just boils down to looks, cooling solution, noise, and price, in whichever order you deem important.

Serious question, I have an MSI 4gb gaming edition GTX 970, is this worth upgrading to? I'd be pairing it with an i5-4460 and not gaming above 1080p.

Really tempted to upgrade if it makes a huge difference but the videos online aren't really giving too much away.
